Just the thread I was looking for. :D I got these for 20 cent a piece (Jeter $1) and thought it was worth the risk. Are the big ones boxtoppers? Also, I guess the finests are supposed to have Refractor printed on the back somewhere if they actually were? Thanks for sharing the knowledge guys!

For the '95 Finest they would say refractor next to the stats table (kind of hard to see written in black with the dark green background - top of the back scan)

For the jumbo '98 Finest they have an "R" next to the number

Just got one of those cards that have been impossible to find:

1998 Topps SportzCubz Prototype

w_1998--sportzcubz.jpg

Very nice pickup there! Is it made from cardboard or some other kind of material perhaps? From the scan it kinda looks like a mouse pad to me.

I figured it was going to be like you said, a mousepad. However, it's actually some type of cardboard!

I love these Prototypes... :D

Onionring9,
Unfortunately none of them were Refractors but, it's good to finally know how to tell. Even for non ref's these are some of the nicest cards. Thanked.

TNOMF,
Thanks man, it's a pretty cheap scanner. I think it's the great looking cards that make the scan.

Got 12 new ones in today. Some pretty neat stuff although all of it is 1998 and up.

I got all of these from the same seller.I have seen some of these on and off but never all of them from the same seller which is why I haven't gone after them individually.Sipping makes it not worth the hassel.Plus this dude had some low prices.I wish Burbank was this good.

First up a 2000 Pacific Crown Royal Proof. This thing is see through and almost looks like a piece of film.It does look legit though and is on the beckett list. Not bad for $3.20.

Next up is the 2000 Pacific Ruby

All in all not bad.It really helped me fill a few holes and now pushes my total unique Bagwell card collection to three shy of 2200 different.I am really glad to have found all of these from one seller and only spend about $20 or so and that includes shipping!Once a few of my other wins arrive...I will have some really nice stuff to show.

I haven't been around much lately and I missed out on a lot! Great pick ups everyone.

Predatorkj- A lot of sweet cards in there. Congrats on the sweet pick ups.

Things have been pretty slow here lately. I hope to have some more 90s sweetness to add soon.

Found this recently, had been tucked away.
I never have found a Griffey gold or platinum for sale, but I got this beauty DIRT cheap! I loved SP Authentic's look in the late 90's!

Predatorjk- Nice Pacific Pickups!

Thanks.Yeah...that crown royal proof is pretty sweet looking.

I just got a Walker last week and I agree it is a pretty sweet card.

There is another version supposedly and it says serial on the checklist which I guess means its serial numbered.Anyone know what these are numbered to?

Definitely legit. According to my '07 Standard Catalog, these were the actual printer's proofs used to produce the set. They were inserted 1:25 packs - /50 parallels also exit. I had to do some searching through my Shawn Green box before I found mine - it's #19 as a proof, while Green's base card in the set is #71. 2000 Crown Royale parallels are base, Limited Series (silver foil instead of the base gold and stamped /144), Red (base parallel released in retail packs), Platinum Blue (/75) and Premiere Date (/144), proof (no print run specified) and /50 parallel proof.

I don't have the rainbow but I do have a few of these. I'll scan and post 'em when I get a chance.

I only have the base, red, platinum blue, and the proof so far.Give me a little more time and I should have them all.I do however have a nice rainbow of the 2000 paramount going on.I have the copper, silver, ruby, gold and green. Not sure off the top of my head how many more go into that rainbow but I just noticed it last night and it was kinda cool since I have not consciously gone after them in any sort of order but just pick them up when I see them.

Here's a Stadium Club question. Years ago at a Tri-Star show in San Francisco a dealer told me that there were Wal-Mart/Sam's Club parallels in the '96 set - bronze, silver and gold. By Wal-Mart/Sam's Club, did the guy perhaps mean retail vs. hobby? My '07 Standard Catalog lists five available card parallels - base, Member's Only, Extreme Players Bronze, Silver and Gold. Presently, I have eight Brett Butler versions in hand. The unlisted 6th card is identical in every way to the base card, except with silver foil in the TSC logo and around the player's name, which leads me to believe there might be a bronze & gold parallel, too? I'd love some clarification on this. Scanner stinks, but you guys should be able to see the foil difference.

left is base, right is....?
96StadiumClub0001.jpg

The 7th & 8th parallels I have are oversized - not sure if they're proofs, sheet-cut or what. They're from the Extreme Players sets, and have a larger picture than the one that was cropped to fit the actual EP cards. Any of you guys have these, too? What are you calling them? Since the Silver and Gold exist, I've got to assume that the Bronze does, too.

The oversized cards have a small white border around the card, unlike the usual TSC full-bleed cards.

These are unlisted in Beckett. They did in-fact come from Walmart factory sets of TSC. The only version is the silver.
