Varejao is a punk and I'm sure it was 100% deserved. I also think he was just throwing an elbow after varejao grabbed ray's arm and through him to the ground, and it was just unfortunate placement for Varejao.

Ray's probably one of the classiest guys in the league, so to label him a Cheap Shot Artist for attacking a real cheap shot artist seems a little over the top.

First of all, noone deserves to be elbowed in the nuts for any reason. Especially for what was seen in the video. To say someone deserved it is just ignorant IMO. That was the defenition of a cheap shot.

Grabbing someone's arm and throwing them to the ground after a free throw is not a cheap shot? Again, I don't think the area to which the elbow was thrown was intentional. It seemed like more of a "get off me" elbow as Varejao continued to stand on him after he threw him to the ground after the play was over. Yes, Varejao deserved anything he got because he is an ass and was trying to provoke Ray to get him tossed.

I ain't ig'nant, you ig'nant.

If I said I disagree with your statement would be very much an understatement.

Basically what Varejao did was a foul and possibly a tech at the very worst. What Ray did is an auto ejection and possible few game suspension. They are not one of the same and defentially not "deserved".

So it's a dead play, a guy locks another guys arm up, swings him over his hip and to the ground on purpose. He then continues to stand over the guy and walk into him on purpose. To say I strongly disagree with your understanding of what a "foul" is would be very much an understatement.

If anyone did what Varejao did in any of my games to anyone on the court there would have been punches thrown. Would you have rather Ray stood up, and aimed a punch? Ray was getting Varejao to back off while he was standing on top of him, and the elbow landed in the crotch region. It was not intended to land there, but it did. Is it great that it happened? No, of course not. Is it completely understandable how and why it happened? Yes, if you've ever played competitive basketball you'd understand.

Varejao provoked the whole thing and I dont think Ray Allen did it on purpose as it was just a natural reaction to what Varejao did as Ray was looking down at the time and as he turned around his elbow went up ( I will check out the youtube video to get a better look). No one was hurt (Including Varejao  ) so I think that is why none of the refs did anything more than a double technical.

Exactly! If the best athletes in the world want to elbow someone in the junk then I would think they'd have the coordination and accuracy to do so.

I played basketball my entire life, needless to say I have never felt the need to elbow somsone in the crotch. It is NEVER understandable to elbow someone like that. I dont understand why you would even suggest it is acceptable or understandable.

Ever play in a competitive game and have someone take a cheap shot at you and then continue to provoke you in the heat of a big game? If you haven't then you don't get it.

Yes absolutely I have, but then again I dont want to fight over such trivial things.

If Ray Allen was the stand up profession everyone makes him out to be he would have walked away, let Varejao take his punishment and leave it at that. Instead he intensified the situation.

I'm not saying the action was the right thing to do. I'm saying I understand why he did it, and if you're going to act like a punk and attempt to injure or provoke a fight then you have to be ready for it. And it's not so trivial when a guy wraps up your arm and throws you on the ground. That could have thrown out his shoulder, sprained something, or broken a wrist if he reached out to catch his fall. In a game where his team was up 20 it is downright pathetic to do this to another player. Varejao was trying to provoke Ray (and did) because he knows that the Celtics losing Allen is more of a loss than the Cavs losing him.

It's like a man law that the nuts is off limits. I would have rather seen Ray dome piece Anderson then hit him in the balls. Then again, I have no clue what anderson did, maybe he hit ray earlier in the nuts or something.

That's fine, I agree that you don't go after the balls. However, as I said before (and someone else backed up) it looks very unintentional that the elbow ended up there.

here is the clip for those who didn't see....and Varejao is a BIOTCH! He threw him to the ground and threw his hands up like he didn't do anything....and then pretended to want to go after Ray Allen with refs in the way....why are guys from overseas such terrible actors??? anyways, he didn't deserved to get one to the junk....but he did deserve some type of retaliation for that.....he clearly took Allen by the arm and hip tossed him to the ground.
