If you like the product and want to open it for a price of X, than do so. If you don't like the product, and have no plans to open any, well than SHUT THE HELL UP!

Sorry, but I am getting sick of people crying about products they have not opened and never plan on opening. What do you gain by B**CHING about something other people might enjoy??????

If this is directed at me you can kiss my @$$. I have been learning and growing in this hobby for a long time and this concept is new to me. I simply wanted to hear what others thought about it. I'm sorry I'm not able to get on here everyday and read product critics on a regular basis. I think the feedback was good and mixed and its good to hear from both sides of the debate. If you don't like the topic of conversation than you can take your own advice.

You can drop $75 on a box of Bowman Draft and pick up roughly a minimum of $10 in singles of guys who the odds are against making the majors, or drop $200+ on a pack of this for a minimum of $50 return of a former Hall of Famer or top tier star graded 7 or better.

Obviously the odds are always with the house on pack/box breaks...but without question this product offers far more of a percentage return than almost any other product out there.

It's definitely hit or miss, like any product, but the misses here are still collectible and easy to move...unlike a box of commons, inserts and a $3 autograph.

$225 pack yielding $50 in cards = $175 loss (big ol' kick in the balls)
$75 box yielding $10 in cards = $65 loss (slight tap in the balls)

take that extra $110 and spend it on pokerstars

I don't know if it's just me but I'd rather have someone kick me in the balls. Those little flicks, grazes, and near misses hurt worse than a donkey kick to the face.

Sorry, carry on.

You seem to know alot about ball injuries.

You must work with livestock, or are married.

Either way, start wearing a cup daily.

Have a great day

Not that I want to keep hammering the same nail, but..

1 pack of Legends of the Game = $225
3 boxes of Bowman Draft = 225
1 1968 Topps Mickey Mantle PSA 7 = $219
http://cgi.ebay.com/1968-Topps-Mickey-M ... 4a9fab57e1
1 1957 Topps Bill Mazeroski PSA 8 = $224.72
http://cgi.ebay.com/1957-Topps-Bill-Maz ... 19bafb26c4
1 1960 Topps All Star Mickey Mantle PSA 7 - $225
http://cgi.ebay.com/1960-Mickey-Mantle- ... 2eab7ef1ff
1 1960 Topps Roger Maris PSA 8 - $225
http://cgi.ebay.com/1960-TOPPS-ROGER-MA ... 53e0015199
1 1956 Topps Duke Snider PSA 8 - $224.72
http://cgi.ebay.com/1956-000-Duke-Snide ... 439e47af05
1 1951 Topps Red Back Duke Snider PSA 9 - 221.50

I could go on like this for a while, but you get the picture...

and I will go on. :)
If you were willing to go 2 grades down, you could have a condition sensitive 1953 Topps Jackie Robinson for $223
http://cgi.ebay.com/1953-Topps-1-Jackie ... 5191810c93

A Reggie Jackson rookie for $225? Yup
http://cgi.ebay.com/REGGIE-JACKSON-1969 ... 1c115d6842

An autographed card of one of the toughest living (we think) former players? $225 would get you this super-scarce Byron McLaughlin signed card (ask someone if you don't know):
http://cgi.ebay.com/Byron-McLaughlin-19 ... 53e069da45

Jim Bunning Rookie? PSA 8? Could it be?
http://cgi.ebay.com/1957-Topps-Jim-Bunn ... 335b9e72f5

How about a Mint Dave Winfield Rookie? Blammo!
http://cgi.ebay.com/1974-Topps-Dave-Win ... 2eabfaa9ab

or a nice 61 Roger Maris All-Star? PSA 8 doesn't seem possible, but low and behold...
http://cgi.ebay.com/1961-Topps-Roger-Ma ... 2eabfaa5a0

No way, no day, you've gotta rub your eyes to belive this only sold for $220.38
http://cgi.ebay.com/1970-Topps-Roberto- ... 2eabfaa822

How about some Goudey cards? They are 6's, but I don't think anyone would complain too much:

http://cgi.ebay.com/1933-Goudey-128-CHU ... 20b01e11a0

http://cgi.ebay.com/1933-Goudey-164-LLO ... 1e5b17358e

Or a Bob Feller Rookie card in a 7 for $222?
http://cgi.ebay.com/1948-BOWMAN-5-BOB-F ... 51914c1530

If the 70 Clemente above in an 8.5 was a shocker, this is even moreso:
http://cgi.ebay.com/1961-TOPPS-BOB-CLEM ... 53dff2aa75

Ok, ok, ok, the 53 Robinson may have been a bit of a cheat, since it was a 5. How about a 56 Topps 2 grades better for $220?
http://cgi.ebay.com/1956-Topps-30-Jacki ... 51915485d8

I wouldn't have paid this much, even if it is Babe Ruth, but hey, it fits:
http://cgi.ebay.com/1950-Callahan-Hall- ... 5ad2ce8bbe

Back to autos, how about a signed Yaz rookie? A 39 Playball Carl Hubbell? Neither of them sold for $225, and with good reason (I paid less than $100 for my Hubbell, and about $150 combined to buy a Yaz rookie to be signed (would have been cheaper, but I bought it at the show)
http://cgi.ebay.com/1960-Topps-148-Carl ... 4a9f3536c6

http://cgi.ebay.com/1939-Play-Ball-53-C ... 335ae4ff61

Hall of Famer? Check. PSA 7 or better? Check Tough #1 card? Check. Less than $225? Check
http://cgi.ebay.com/1966-Topps-1-PSA-7- ... 563ac0c2fa

Looking at all these great cards I didn't pay attention to or buy is really starting to get me sad:
http://cgi.ebay.com/1949-Bowman-Joe-Gor ... 3a5914cf26

It's a PSA 8 o/c, so it's really a PSA 6, but I don't think anyone here would kick it out of bed
http://cgi.ebay.com/1957-Topps-Ted-Will ... 3a591b2b66

Hey, he is a HOFer and played baseball, does this count?
http://cgi.ebay.com/1991-HOOPS-543-MICH ... 3efe64bfb6

Best lefty ever (sorry Randy or Steve), in PSA 8
http://cgi.ebay.com/Warren-Spahn-1959-T ... 5ad8566ed5

The most underrated player ever:
http://cgi.ebay.com/PSA-7-1957-Topps-35 ... 5886e1ceef

This 65 Clemente couldn't even get $220
http://cgi.ebay.com/1965-Topps-160-ROBE ... 3cab83572c

but this 70 Yaz came pretty close
http://cgi.ebay.com/1970-Topps-10-Carl- ... 20b045e874

So those are the first 5 pages of completed listing of great cards you could buy outright in the past month alone for less than the price of a legends pack. I know I know, I'm missing the point, when you buy a pack, you have the chance of getting something much better than $225, plus the thrill of opening the wrapper. Maybe it's just me, but I'd rather bust open a bubble mailer. Plus out of all of the cards I've seen listed so far, the only one that appears to be more than the value of the pack might be that 62 Clemente, but after seeing the prices shown above, I don't know (sorry, but neither the 52 Roberts or Spahn would get $200 unless the cards themselves were in superb condition as well).

Feel free to check out the full list on eBay. I left out all of the tobacco cards and what not that didn't at least get a 6, and just stopped at 5 pages and still didn't get below $220 in price. I'm sure that the eye-popping cards that you could get for $150 would sink more than a few battleships.

Sorry, but I've had the whole rodeo clown comment from this episode of Burn Notice going through my head since you mentioned the phrase, so I had to get it out there.

Being a 6'8" 290lb rodeo clown is hard. Most of the barrels don't provide full coverage.

You aren't the clown then, you're the one chasing the clown around after bucking the damn fool on your back.

PS: I wasn't trying to make any jokes about you by my image post in any way. It was just something the rodeo clown comment and what not that got me thinking of the episode.

Collecting cards is for suckers. You're much better off hoarding all of your money and never buying a single thing with it.

Seriously though, how DARE you buy something you enjoy?!?!!?

To add more fuzzy math/failed logic to the mix...

$250 a pack... you sell two cards for $100 total... maybe that third card is worth over $150 and you just got a good buy on it? I dont know... either way I won't ever purchase a pack of this stuff but breaks sure are fun to watch!

By the way, some of us like to open cards for the hell of it..

Sometimes we open a box and get a nut shot.. Other times we get to grin like a fat cat..

But since you can't pull a Mantle RC out of a box of BDP or buy one on EBAY for $225.. I guess I'll still keep opening this stuff..

How many people play the lottery to try and win millions only to get nothing back but a useless ticket.. At least with my lottery, I still have something of value.. probably more value to me since I am older than most on here and grew up watching some of the vintage players..

You collect what you want, and I'll collect what I want and I thank BG for giving us a chance to get some cards we like..

You're only allowed to collect what others think you should collect. Otherwise, your collection is trash.

I'm missing something here. Did you get them slabbed after you bought them, or did you purchase them slabbed?

The reason why baseball card companies can get away with their business model is because they're making something from nothing. A Piece of Cardboard suddenly gains value because of what's printed on it. Ta-Da, a company just made value without it costing them much more than a couple cents.

However, when you consider a product like this, there doesn't appear to be the magical formula of making something from nothing. Everyone's still operating with the same costs and probably wanting to make around the same minimum profit. Packaging, yadda yadda, Shipping, etc.

However, I just don't see how Razor's making something from nothing. When you don't make something from nothing, you don't add value.

Your only chance to make something from nothing is to turn a raw card into a slabbed card. At which point, I'd be curious to know your numbers regarding the amount PSA turned away. Collectors seem to have a damn good idea when it comes to raw-cards and the savings is never that huge -- especially for the counterfeit risks associated with 'em.

Anyways,

Anyone have any idea where something was made from nothing? Because otherwise this just seems like a scratch off ticket.
