redemption cards?

Why will/do people buy these redemption cards for high prices?

Do people not think that their is a chance that if you spend $150.00 for a Bo Jackson purple auto
#d /15, that 4 months after it's redeemed they could get a $15 Tommie Tucker auto?

I have no problem with anybody that does this and yes I know that they could get the player listed on the redemption card, but with the history of the card makers not giving you said player just makes me think.

I know I couldn't afford that risk. Then again, I also play the lottery. I guess you have better odds at getting the card. Depends on player too I guess.

People buy them because, in many cases, they get what's on the card. We always hear about the redemption disasters, but Topps doesn't screw it up every time; we just rarely hear about it when they get it right.

I buy the Belle redemptions but they are few and far in between... Plus they're relatively cheap.

I would NEVER drop big money on a redemption. You'd be crazy to do that.

This. I will only buy a redemption if it's a card I really, really want to own. I figure that if they (let's just assume Topps) tries to pull something funny I will unleash my unhappiness on here, Twitter, Facebook, BBB and wherever else I can think to persuade them to not screw me over and hopefully I won't become one of the horror stories.

I think sometimes it worth taking a gamble on a high end redemption if their is a shot at a nice patch.

I think it just depends on the player when it comes ti redemptions, retired guys are alot more reliable as far as timeliness as you would expect.

I've bought 5 different 2014 randy johnson redemption autos and the 4 I've gotten back all came back within 2 months, mostly sooner. And the 1 outstanding from Tier One just showed up on today's Topps Red. Update to ship next week.

So for me personally, I'll pony up for RJ redemptions just because I have a perfect track record thus far.
