I actually have an indirect Rickey story that some may appreciate.

I live in Eastern Canada eh. As you can imagine I grew up in a hockey town. In 1993 (My 2nd year of high school) the Montreal Canadians won the Stanley Cup. That summer some of the Montreal Canadians players were touring Eastern Canada and ended up at my local mall for an autograph signing. The big name being Kirk Muller (star forward for the Canadians at the time, it's ok if you've never heard of him). I wasn't huge into hockey but my little brother was so I took him to get Kirk Muller's autograph. We stood in line for what seemed like forever. Finally we were face to face with Kirk Muller. My brother got his RC signed. Kirk Muller then turned to me and asked what I had for him to sign. I didn't plan on getting anything signed but without thinking I pulled out my wallet where I kept a 1990 Score Rickey Henderson card (don't ask why I kept it there, I just did....and it was in EX condition). I handed it to Kirk Muller. He looked at the card, then back at me, then back at the card. I'm thinking he is going to tell me to F off. He then says "I love this guy, didn't the Jays just get him in a trade last week?" I replied "yes, best day of my life, WS repeat in the bag". He then said "This made my day" and he signed the card with the inscription "Go Rickey Go!". I gave the card to my brother as a birthday present the following year. He still has it.

It just goes to show even hockey players can recognize and respect greatness.

I always lose the info that I write down. Can someone or everyone post usernames with real names and eBay names? I've talked to a few new (at least to me) guys and I just get all confused with who is who sometimes.

Let's hope Walt and Rickey come through on all of this stuff! Speaking of coming through, where are the details for the RH24 Fan Club that was supposed to be announced on Friday.....then Sunday.......now who knows!

Due to a heavy travel schedule we'll have some updated post by this weekend, we're still working and waiting on a few things to do with RH24 fan club and a few signings for the Fall of 2012. Thanks everyone and we'll talk soon

They're working on it. :D

Picked up a lot from Tony Faubion. Nothing spectacular, but looked like quite a few oddball cards I'm missing. I'll post when I get them.

Great story Jason.

Absolutely! I especially enjoyed this part...

I live in Eastern Canada eh.

 Nice.

Welcome to the thread Jason, I'm glad you got to read the whole thing. I would like to do that someday, maybe I'll be able to soon? I have no job.

It's really kind of bugging me. All of the jobs I'm looking at seem like they suck. I think I'm going to have a sucky job soon. Sniffle. We're settling in nicely, getting used to the heat and humidity (lol, ok we're not, but we're trying) and the bugs. I think we're going to survive. A little worried that the wife didn't get a call to substitute this week, but it is only like the second week of school out here so not many teachers are taking vacations or playing hooky yet. Still, it's kind of hard not to get down a little. Maybe even depressed. I kind of miss home and my friends... already! Haven't even been here a week yet...

I have been living a much much healthier life. I quit drinking and started jogging instead. That's something to be chipper about, huh? I just hope I can find a decent job to go be healthy at.

I've lived in AR most of my life and am still not used to the heat and humidity.

What kind of jobs are you looking at?

I'm sorry, I wasn't ignoring your question, and if I dig up my cheat sheet I can give a good answer. The problem is, it's on a flash drive somewhere around here... I'll find it ASAP.

And thelesquad, I will send you a PM. I've been wanting to...

Working on getting stuff organized and displayed. It's a slow process.

So my pickups came yesterday while I was at work. I knew there were a few I needed in the lot from the pictures, but I couldn't believe how many I didn't have!

Not going to list them all, but the one I was really stoked about was the 91 7-11 HG. Paid $20 shipped for the lot and there are about 110 more doubles.
