I can't believe the photo is reversed. The amazing switch hitting Henderson. This adds to how much I hate all the new cards of him.

Good catch, I didn't even really pay attention to the picture, just was relieved to see that the barell's are so unrealistic. It looks like a pretty sweet set to put together though, although I like the blacks so it would cost an arm and both legs.

I was looking through the other B&B pictures, and wow... ! They hit a pink barell, 1/1, of ARod. That seems like a pretty good hit.

Here's the Rickey's I've gotten in this week. Unlike last year, I don't really feel the need to go after all of the Triple Threads, although I would like to find the base #/25. I'm hoping to get one of each of the #/36, and will pick up the others if they look to be going for a reasonable price.

As usual, good stuff Brad. One question though about that Beckett list...there is a "Steal King" diecut that shows 3 Rickeys in three different uniforms, and then there is another version of the "Steal King" diecut, but it only has one picture of Rickey in the center (I've been calling this the "Steal King single"). The Beckett list doesn't seem to show the two versions.

The list also doesn't explicitly call out the "White Whale" 1/1 of the base card (that someone recently outbid me on). Would that be the same thing as the Platinum 1/1?

Nice cards, but....a SN# 24??? You are killing Jacob. Cmon...you gotta give it to him. :) I was bidding on that card specifically to trade with him. ;)

Scott,

The actual Beckett list is much more confusing than this, lol!

The Steal King card w/3 Rickey's is this one:
Topps Triple Threads Relic Combos Henderson/36 #RC22

I only added the descriptions to the single cards, but I could add it to the 3X Rickey and the Rickey/Crawford/Ellsbury as well.

As for the white whale, I'm actually not exactly sure what that was. I think it might be one of the printing plates. Plus, Beckett as usual is not always correct. The MLB die cut cards were not listed initially, and were only recently added.

As for the #24/, it has not made it's way into the permanent collection, and will definitely be heading on over to Ryan in trade :) I was wondering who would be the first to catch that, lol!

I didn't know who won, my snipe wasn't even really even close at all.

Isn't this somebody we know? n***n( 1553) who recently snagged this other 24:

Where's the drool smiley...

About the White Whale, I didn't know they called the plain plates that, only the ones like this:

!B4vZDI!BGk~$(KGrHqUOKiUEyZBdWQFHBMq-,Qdq1!~~_3.jpg

Amazing that CC's incredible white whale there sold for $93.50 and Rickey's plain plate sold for $343. :o

Anyway, the platinum version looks like this:

Marro, that one is incredible! I think the first patch might be from this sunny guy...

But it's kinda hard to tell what's going on in your patch, and I'm a little color blind so never really too great at this game.

Just got this one in the mail today:

10ToppsBatBarrel25.jpg

These are actually pretty nice looking cards, much nicer than the hat patches. Although manufactured, and featuring reversed pictures (really Topps, Rickey hits left handed?), I'm pretty excited to add this one to the collection!

I recently saw Eastbound and Down, and if you haven't, it's about this former MLB pitcher. He hit 1 HR, and he kept the precious bat he hit it with. The guy needs money so he sells his GU bat on eBay..... for $7. He thinks since he's such a huge star and all, it's worth $5K. I was pretty excited a few days after I saw the show, when a nice Jason Jennings GU bat was listed on eBay for $8! I won it for the opening bid, and the shipping was $12, but the guy wrote me an email and said I lived right up the street and he could drop it off on the way home. Sweet! We agreed to a price of $15 for the bat, a bat tube, and delivery to my house. The guy was awesome, and brought me a JJ autographed card!

It sure is fun swinging Jason Jennings' bat around. A lot more fun than the other items I've won, a couple GU jerseys and a GU hat.

Nice brother Kevin! Is yours cracked at all? Mine has a little crack. I was fondling it, lol, giving it a few practice swings. I love it! It's the only bat I have... except for a purple wiffle ball bat that's Renée's. I use it to crush crab apples out of the yard. Whenever I hit one out I say "One down, 2 million 3 hundred 15 thousand and 7 hundred 32 to go. *sigh*

Effin' crab apple trees. Anybody got one? They're so beautiful for 2 weeks out of the year, but then they **** little apples on you for months and months. Endless supply of miniature baseballs to smack with a wiffle ball bat though, I gotta give 'em that.

Been quiet around here lately, I guess it's off-season for us Rickey collectors as well :) I did just get in the base bat barrel #/99, which looks nicely next to the black #/25...
