About the camo Gwynn jersey... won't they sell you a blank one and let you add the numbers and lettering? Just a thought...
About the 2005 Absolute...
I liked it too. In 2005 they thought it was more important to show us a diagram of the baseball diamond that the jersey was used on. For some reason.
It's a big picture, maybe excessive, but I like it!
As to the "supposedly" part of your statement, I believe they really did their job very well. You can tell on those Rickey Mets cards you showed, they show the picture of the throwback jersey on the back. (I think :lol: ) And there are some really super great examples out there, like this one:
