Hey all. I saw that PCList, and certainly have stuff to add/upload. But was wondering what the plan is. Are we allowing one Administrator? And then the rest of us will PM him with suggested updates? I registered on the site, and only focused on 1980 for now (to make it easy), but noticed a few missing (for example: plain old Topps #96 - Oakland team card). It looks like I didn't have the opportunity to add, so is Dave the only one with rights to the Master list? And, are we planning on adding "everything" such as publications, cups, t-shirts, and other wacky stuff? I'm on-board with this whole thing, and although the format takes a little getting used to, its definitely a good start.

BTW, baby Alyssa finally started going to day care as my wife went back to work. The first time I had to make the monthly payment, it started hitting me....I won't have as much budget to buy ebay Rickeys anymore. :( A very sad realization, but I'm going to have to pick and choose my spots. Bummer. Kids are expensive. *sigh* She's such a cutie though....

I promise not to overload this thread with pics of her...just this once. BTW, that last one she's in Vegas for the SuperBowl, lounging on the nice bedding at Caesar's. :)
Scott the reason 1980 Topps #96 is not listed, is because they used a 1977 Team photo and the guy you think is Rickey is Billy North.

Right now just the cards, or cardlike since I do include a few items that aren't cards. But please if you think other cards are missing, let me know.

Emailed Dave a few pictures that will help out some. Dave, about the Topps Vintage embossed, makes sense about the embossed set numbering, but 2 cards are still numbered the same (AS and reg). Just confused me, not saying you are wrong. I have every Rickey bobblehead too if you need pictures of them. The newest A's one someone else can provide a pic because mine has a broken hand that I had to glue back on.

This is just crazy! It has correct tagging and I think it's legit. Sold for $224 or so about a week ago. Now the buyer is selling it for $1900!

Carry on.....

I feel really bad for you! Because... this ain't nuthin'! We have a great group of generous guys here. Once Larry threw a whole bunch of cards (parallels and inserts and nice stuff, not base cards) into a box and mailed it to the next person in line, who took out some they needed and replaced them with nice dupes, and so on until everybody had a turn with the box. Then the group decided to auction the leftovers in a big lot with a 1/1 sketch of Rickey a guy had drawn, and donate the money to the poorest member of the group, the poor guy that had just had a baby. Then some random stranger won the auction, paid the money and said keep the cards, he was just going a good deed. So the really poor guy got the money and the 1/1 sketch card, and I was that poor guy! :D

Rickey Henderson collectors are so awesome that I recommend joining us and becoming one. :!:

We certainly do have a great dynamic, we're not afraid to help one another, and we don't bicker about who has what, or who outbid whom. I just wish I had met you guys a lot sooner!

So my scanner isn't working and I just found out the wife had one packed away that does work, thus the scans recently. Here is my HOF member card. I was so excited when the guy said they would print one out for me!

Damn Neil, what a effin' mailday! I can't believe the card George posted the other day is already in your collection, that was amazingly fast! And all those natty cards!? Good God Damn.

I should point out though, if you collected somebody like Jason Jennings, the auto would have been ~$12 and the National cards would have been 99 cents each. Of course, they are all worthless, but you save a lot of money buying useless stuff. :?

And yeah, that hat would be cool. I always thought it was a Padres hat, but it doesn't look like it says Padres in your scan. Anybody know what it says? I could probably go to the dungeon and dig mine up, but my back is killing me from carrying stuff down to the dungeon this weekend. I have a computer down there now though! If only for a couple months.....

Boiled the card in water to peal off the top.
They just dont usually get so greedy but he probably figured if its to cheap nobody would believe its real, fortunately I think us Rickey collectors are a little smarter than that.

It says Padres. I zoomed in on the photo and it's not a cowboy hat like I thought, it's a hat kinda like Gillican wore with white flowers on it. With the sides pushed up like they are I thought it was a cowboy hat. Looking back I guess it wouldn't make sense for it to be a cowboy hat.

I swear Rickey would be so disappointed in the disarray of my collection right now. I was going to post up a sweet item I have, but can't locate it right now. I know it's somewhere I just don't have time to dig thru everything. When Pacific was going out, I was able to snag a slide they used to make a card. My plan is to have it blown up into 8x10 or whatever looks good, and have the slide and card all framed together. I'll find a picture of the card and throw it in here. The slide shows so much more of the playing area and is really pretty sweet!

Nice Pickups Neil! I just got this one in the mail, which I snagged via BIN. It's #23/99 (so close, Ryan, yet so far)
