That's a nice one! Back in about 2005 I went into a local shop I never go to. They had one of those for $25. I thought " This guy doesn't know anything. Back in the day #/38 was pretty special, but nowadays a card needs to be #/5 to get that much, if it doesn't have GU or an auto..."

::facepalm::

Aaaaahhhh well....

TBP: Meh... it's alright. It's not yours, is it? It looks kinda dingy to me. Not like it has dings, but it looks dirty. Maybe it's just the scan...

Why #/35? WHY!?!?!?!?!!

I actually think seeing 24/35 is really cool! It's like a 2-for-1 kind of deal in terms of Rickey jersey #'s. :)

That's true on the right card. Not this one. I could let this one slide if the jersey cutout was shaped like a 35, but it's a 24 like the rest. The rest are #/24. Arg.

I couldn't find a pic, but I know there is at least 1 dual jersey card like this one:

And on the back there is a 24 jersey laying next to a 35 jersey. Now THAT ONE would be awesome if it was #24/35. My example above wishes it was #24/24. Alas...

How about a 2004 card picturing him as a dodger(25) with a 24 inscription? And the jersey is showing on the front of the card!

That's pretty bad, but I've seen much worse. Stuff like a card that says "Yankees" on it, but the player is wearing a Brewers jersey, and the patch is clearly from his time playing with the Orioles.

It does seem pretty simple to look at the card you're about to affix a sticker to, see he is wearing a 24 jersey, and decide to not use that 25 sticker until later. The person doing the job probably didn't know what was going on, if they thought anything about it, it was something like "This guy doesn't even know his own jersey #!"

Do any of you guys have some awesome Rickey "Wallpaper/Desktop Pictures" by chance?

I used to have one form the A's when they had Rickey Day and he was being inducted. You could get it on their site, not sure if it's still available or not?

Any Rickey collector want this at what I have into it? I bought the lot just for the McGwire. [ebay:1sjq9de3]280830808369[/ebay:1sjq9de3]

Right now its at $2.50 over spot, so have no problem keeping it, just thought I'd offer.

While looking at an e-mail from eBay about upcoming changes, this one caught my eye:

"Starting this fall, all listings will be required to have at least one picture"

Brubank is not going to be happy :) Unless they get around it by just inserting their logo!

I would love to have the Modesto Bee find some pictures in the archives to show the jersey #! Fingers-crossed.
This is a guarantee, since I got the answer from the man himself

Rickey wore #14 in Modesto in 1977.

I like your source! Haha. Just casually call him up and asked, eh? :)

Thank you!

I thought it was pretty cool that he responded to us! You definitely can't argue with the source :)

So that's why he wore 14 in Toronto before he "bought" 24. I always wondered why.
