Ripken Playing Card Auto

I learned something interesting that pertains to the subject. This info is not mine but from my friend IronManFan. In 1994, Burger King restaurants in the Baltimore area gave out trading cards. Cal signed some of the cards and they were randomly inserted. Apparently there was nothing extra special that denoted anything about it being a signed card.

Admittedly I have not researched the Burger King card as I have the Aces card from Bicycle. However, in the searches I have done I am yet to find any information about it's existence. Guess what, no completed auctions either. Is it the next T-206 Wagner? Is it a $6k card?

I actually have one of those in my collection. Go for about 40$.

The one in the magnetic is a different one. Look at the autograph compared to the other two.

Did these cards get released in an un-auto'd version? Is there a chance the latest one was signed in person? Seems like the guy had a good chance to get it signed as he posted a pic of him with Ripken.

Also.. he has the hands of a chubby 12 year old. His thumb is freaking me out.

I love the comment to the effect of "What are the odds of the only 3 known copies of this card all surfacing on the Blowout boards?"

In that case, I would think that the odds are that there are more than 3 copies.

I love how the description mentions how Beckett doesn't even know about these, yet they clearly list them and give relevant info about them in the yearly guide. That auto looks fake as hell, especially the big piece of the J that's missing.

No expert on his sig but I have never seen any of Cal's sigs that have ken like that.

These would have been signed around the same point in his career that the 1993 Elite autos were. I don't have a scan handy. I don't believe that the authenticity of the autos has ever been called into question, just the sanity of some extremely bull-headed collectors.
