New arrival - the 2003 Donruss Team Heroes Stat Line /11. Normally the Stat Line series was limited to the base Donruss issue, but for some reason they included one in this set. But they didn't do the usual Career and Season Stat Line versions, just one Stat Line. This one is numbered to 11, for the number of HR that homeboy hit in 2002.

Nothing that finished any runs. The 1/1's have exploded. I still pick up cards though. The new stuff has slowed down both in terms of how much they release and how much I chase

I just completed a pretty difficult run, the Topps Kanebo series. In case you didn't know these were released in Japan in 2003 in two series. The first series was designed like 2002 Topps, and came with silver and black parallels. Silver is tough, black is really tough. The second series was designed like 2003 Topps and came with a bronze parallel, which is tough. I just got the series 1 black from COMC...

Yah. I'd never seen one until recently, when two appeared on ebay. Gouger #1 wants $1000, and Gouger #2 wanted $600 (although that listing disappeared). This one on COMC cost me $135, which I think is high but not outrageous, considering the scarcity and the fact that they were only distributed in Japan.

Hey y'all. Just back at my casa after an eventful 6 months. I'm all caught up on scanning and cataloging the cards that came in lately, and thought I'd share some.

1998 Upper Deck Retro Quantum Leap /50. I've missed out on several of these over the years, but not this time.

1997 Score Team Collection Premier Club. I think this is the only one I've ever seen.

2001 Topps Stars Elimination card PR100. No idea how many are left in circulation, versus those that were sent in to Topps. A big factor was how Robbie did stats-wise during the game period. I have not been bothered to look that up, but I can tell you these things are rarer than hens' teeth...

1998 Donruss Production Line Executive Proof. Love these executive proofs! And especially this one. Gorgeous card, and almost my favorite shade of green.

Another little run completed this week. 2011 Playoff Prime Cuts "Emblems of the Hall". I bought the last one on a whim just to get it done. Overpaid a bit, but what the hell. Nothing much else coming in lately...plus I like the design of these cards. 2011 was the year the homeboy got elected to the HOF so these were some of the first issues thereafter.

After a spectacular 12 months, the last ~4-5 months have been pretty dry out there. I landed a couple new cards, but nothing too noteworthy.

Maybe it's TDS taking the wind out of peoples' sails. I sure have it.

Here's a cool one. 2003 Leaf Limited Moniker Bat /5. For some reason I'm way into this set. Homeboy has 5 different card numbers in this set, plus an insert, each with their myriad parallels. For a total of 68 different cards. I'm farther along than you might think, but the button cards are all /6 and the auto cards are all /5. So it's tough sledding.

That said, recently I landed a first! One of the autograph/bat cards. And they're colored green as it turns out. Didn't know that. I love the vibrant colors in this set.

I wonder whatever happened to him. Has anyone seen or heard from him on any message board lately?

If memory serves, I actually bought that card from an ebay user with the name "Joan" or something or other, AKA his female alter ego.

I'm still here, still fighting ALL hobby fraud even though I'm terribly physically disabled in constant severe widespread pain & awful weakness. I jus don't post anymore, why should I? So morons like almost everyone on Blowout Cards Forums can LIE about me & play follow the sheep when most have no idea who I am!
I caught PSA grading those counterfeit cards sold on eBay for so many years. They graded a fake 1986 Fleer Michael Jordan a PSA 10 that I found almost TEN things on this card from high quality scans that were ALL WRONG. Then the seller in 2017-18 told me after much prodding "I bought it on eBay for $5 then sent it to PSA to see if they'd grade it." in eBay messages. Then he lists it at $31,999.99 or Best Offer. I immediately contacted eBay, the FBI & ICE with a copy of his message, my proof that it's a counterfeit with high quality side by side scans of the fake & a real one circling the proof that one is a fake. NO ONE DID A DAMN THING TO HELP! It sold in 3-days for the full $31,999 then was RETURNED because I believe the buyer saw exactly what I did. Next it's relisted & again sold for the full $31,999. I had truly hope the FBI, ICE or eBay bought it to get it out of the hobby. THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN! Now famous rapper/DJ AOKI owns it (same PSA ID number) & it's a worthless fake, nit the million dollar card AOKI thinks it is. I tried to get in touch with AOKI to no avail. See scans of the fake...

Damn. 2 months+ since my last addition to this little corner of baseballcardlandia. Well, in my defense there hasn't been sh*t to report on. The well on Alomar cards has done run dry.

At least for me anyway. A seller in Florida has appeared with all sorts of extremely rare cards. Like multiple 1997/1998 Showcase Masterpieces. But sadly the guy was asking astronomical prices. He did have a couple completed sales on ebay, but most of them just disappeared. It was nice to see them, but a shame they were light years away from my price range.

I did manage to pick up one little beauty recently though. The 2003 Fleer Hardball Platinum /50. This is one of those little parallels that most player collectors pick up, file away, and never think about again. But since I restarted my PC in 2014, I don't recall ever seeing one. So adding this card, and completing this mini rainbow, basically resulted in this:

I've made a similar post before, about Robbie and Sandy Jr. getting mixed up on cards. But it's a slow night here in Lafayette Colorado so why not revisit this curiosity.

First one is the 1989 Bimbo Bread Discs. Produced by the ubiquitous MSA company, aka Michael Schecter & Associates. For a long time this guy and his outfit produced a dizzying array of oddball issues. And there's almost nothing about him on the interwebs. I think it would be fascinating to track this guy down and interview him, if he's still kicking.

Anyway, this disc clearly has Sandy Jr. standing in for Roberto.

And this one clearly has Roberto standing in for Sandy Jr. It's from the 1989 Classic set.
