Well, I'll start off. If the starting pitchers can throw well and consistently, I think the Rockies will have a great year. However, I just do not see that happening.

Here is my bold 2009 Rockies pitching predictions:
Aaron Cook will win 17 games and lead the Rockies to the playoffs.
Franklin Morales will pitch well throughout the season and keep his walk count down.
The Rockies will find a good consistent 4th and 5th starter in De La Rosa and Morales.

I am thinking that the pitching staff will go like this: Cook, Jimenez, Marquis, Morales, and De La Rosa. Hirsh may get starts though.

Well, I am done with my ramblings on the Rockies pitching, so start discussing the team in general!

I would be happy. I think Barmes is probably a little bit better than Baker. Barmes did much better last season than in 07, and I think this year will be even better. Barmes' problems are his fielding and patience at the plate.

I am fine with Baker or Barmes... I'm more of a Baker fan myself but whatever.... as long as Nix or Quintanilla is not over there.

Hmm... Probably won't happen but I wouldn't mind Smith in left and Spilborghs in center.

I hope Carlos Gonzalez becomes a good player. It would make the Holliday trade a little less painful.

Just read it. Pretty weird as Tulo and Atkins were great IP signers when I was in Colorado.

I like Spilly out in center and I would not mind giving Seth Smith some looks out in left

Just read it. Pretty weird as Tulo and Atkins were great IP signers when I was in Colorado.

Atkins is still great. Tulo signs about once a week i'd guess. The money goes to the "wins for kids" fundraiser.

I sure liked what I saw last night, what Rockies fan wouldn't. Solid pitching and defense. Jimenez is poised to become a star this year, and Corpas and Street could become a nice set-up/closer combo.

And Tulo appears back to form!

And I just noticed that Morales is starting today. I'm excited to watch and see what he can do, because I can't help feeling that the difference between a mediocre and good season for the Rox might rest on his arm.

As for me, I have not. I live in California and it's tough to get out to Colorado. . . I am hoping I can get out there this summer but I'm not sure.

Nope, never lived in Colorado. I think it may have started when I would go up to Colorado on ski trips but, I don't know how I really came to like the Rockies.
