Here is my [strike:2s0mykyw]homer[/strike:2s0mykyw] view on the McCoy injury: Football is a team game. It is also a very physical game. When playing a physical defense like Alabama, if all your eggs on offense are in McCoy's basket, you can't complain when he goes down. It's a TEAM game, so maybe Coach Brown should have prepared Gilbert more or constructed a more balanced team.

Thanks Coach for breaking that down for all of us::facepalm:: When your starting QB at a top 20 program goes down, it's going to be different team in regards to the playbook and the ability to make big plays. No team in the Top 20 would be the same team with a back-up QB. This about cost Iowa a BCS game when Stansi (Spellings?) went down......
You just can't prepare a back-up Froshman QB to be ready for a game of that magnitude..
(I'm not a fan of either team...but Ingram is a hell of a running back)

Look assclown, I'm just saying a team built on the passing attack around (mostly) 2 players is just asking for trouble. Seriously, what did I state that wasn't true? Maybe the kid should have got more reps during some of the blowouts or it wouldn't have killed the team to be a little more balanced.
I know you can't prepare a quarterback for a game like that. Just sit back for a second a think, if that's even possible for you. If McElroy goes out of the game, Bama wouldn't be completely screwed. Why? Because A.J. McCarron would have the run game to fall back upon. Sure, they're gonna make him air it out, but just having those playmakers there at RB is gonna take some pressure off the freshman.
This is something Texas didn't have the luxury of doing. Saban, for the most part, forced Gilbert to make plays. He made a few, but definitely not enough. He needed help, and that goes back to construction of the team.

Hey...I don't like the what if game either. But when the "what if" actually does affect the outcome...it does have merit and should be accepted. That's all.Colt playing doesn't mean anything other than Texas would have had a chance. It doesn't mean they win.But him being out spelled as much doom as Ingram getting hurt would have for the Tide.
Its like getting drunk and then speeding down the highway in your car.Sure you might have gotten pulled over anyways. But the fact that you were speeding surely sealed the deal eh?

Ingram goes down...Bama loses.Same scenarir are you gonna say it isn't?Your QB had very little to do with the outcome of the game.Like I said...lets just all let it go.I think we can all pretty much figure it was over once Colt got hurt and I agree a lot of the blame goes to Mack Brown for his part in piss poor backup planning. Why even have a guy on the field if you are afriad to let him pass and actually play balls to the wall?In that case, you as the coach, are stupid for not having this all sorted out.Can your backup play as good as the starter?N
bviously, there is a reason they are a backup.But...the whole point is...lets not go out there half cocked either.
Alabama fans should enjoy the win.Its not their fault that it came out the way it did.I, myself, wouldn't be happy no matter which team I was a fan of because I felt let down.I felt the same way when Bradford got hurt. All my friends were happy and I was kind of bummed. This is like a million times worse.I would still be happy if Texas won.But I wouldn't want them to win like this.
