I think Oswalt to get off his high horse. Also, how many times has Oswalt faced the Yankees while A-Rod was on the yankees? And out of those games, how many of them did A-rod personally cheat Oswalt out of.

I think Oswalt makes a very valid point but I wonder how he works with Clemens.

I don't think it puts him on a high horse for him to say that cheaters cheat honest players. By definition, that is what they do.
I wrote that because I felt he came across as better than everyone else because he said he personally was cheated out of games. He did not say I feel like roid users cheat everyone out of the game. Also, he's already rich enough, I'm sure, so the money factor shouldn't be a complaint (for the record, PED users haven't made him lose a single cent).

What about the guys PED users actually affected? Competing for a job and one is a user, winning the job. He just unfairly screwed the other guy. Yes, if they are great players they'll make it anyways, but what about the fringe guys? I think that is where PEDs really affect baseball.

As for my sig, it was just a random picture I found funny. I didn't even notice the crotch grab until you pointed it out. It only made the picture funnier.

To be fair, everyone gets a lot of hits off Oswalt. The guy's not exactly known for being hard to hit.

What Oswalt is suggesting is hard to accomplish because you don't know how much of their stats were steroid-enhanced. Secondly, what's done is done. Subtracting homeruns from Arod isn't going to get Oswalt more money or a better contract. Thirdly, the agreement for the 2003 testing was that there were to be no punishments. Any punishment would severely damage any relations b/w MLB and the Player's Union.

Lastly, I don't even think what these guys did was beyond what athletes normally do to gain an edge. Jordan discovered he could take 5 steps and not get called for a travel, so he did it. Vlade Divac realized he could draw some fouls by flopping, so he did it. Gaylord Perry discovered that spitballs were harder to hit, so he threw them. Offensive hockey players discovered they could curve their stick more than the allowed 1/2 inch and get away with it, so they did it. Bonds and Clemens and Giambi and Palmeiro and hundreds of others thought they could take steroids and not get caught, so they did it. It gets very very messy when you start messing with stats in order to account for "cheating."

Players have always tried to find ways to circumvent the system. The overseeing agencies then try to find ways to stop them. It's a co-evolution and is a natural part of sports. Today it's steroids. Tomorrow it'll be something else. Your only choice is to try to stay a step ahead of those sneaky bastards.

It would be awesome if PED users stats were erased, Rickey could have the All Time Walks Record that he totally earned and deserves back.

what about the cocaine users though? lol

Tim Raines and Dwight Gooden didnt get those nicknames for nothin'! LOL

Oswalt just joined Schilling in the tool shed.

Did you open the door for him when he knocked(?)..or just yelled: "Come in"???

Both Schilling and Oswalt are dolts. Their remarks are ridiculous.

If Oswalt had his way..then you'd have to erase the stats of ALL the cheaters...Phil Niekro, Whitey Ford...to name a few. While we're at it erase Mantle and Ruth too for being alcoholics.

Like I said...Oswalts remarks are ridiculous.

If players like Oswalt want to make a stand demand open drug testing from THEIR UNION. If he wants to make a stand, stand away from the Player's Association and submit his own public testing.

Players can talk tough all they want, but their money is funding the problem.

Talk means nothing here. Nothing at all.

Walk from the union Roy. Walk from the union.

Oswalt made one "far-fetched" remark because he is fed up & is showing the public so. I would much rather defend someone whose remark's are ridiculous than someone who's action's are (& I'd classify steroid use/cheating as pretty ridiculous)!!! That's just me though, so I have no problem with Oswalt "saying" what he did (it didn't hurt my feeling's & wasn't directed towards anyone whom was doing what they were supposed to & playing by the rules....but judging by your username you may see it a bit differently)... ;)

Sorry Oswalt you can erase history! No matter what they have done they still have there numbers. As if the numbers mean as much that is a different story.

It is a good thing Oswalt is speaking his mind...and a good thing he didn't play with a pair of suspected or self-admitted PED users who helped his Astros get to the World Series in 2005.

In what way, shape, or form does alcoholism enhance a player's ability to play the game of baseball (or any sport for that matter)? What rule/law, inside of baseball or out, does being an alcoholic break? Oswalt made 1 statement in the heat of the moment about a professed "cheater" & you want to get your *****'s in a *** & start slinging nonsense? Why not take this for what it was, one of the few "good" player's telling the public thier tired of it; either way it has no bearing on the game of baseball & nothing will come of it (other than a little razzing back & forth on some message board's across the world)! :D

That would be dumb. What next, then you'd have to take out the stats of those that played against the PED players, so on and so forth.

Here we go with the Pete Rose "thing" again. Seriously, grow up...it's getting really old, really fast. I like Rose...whoopie! Let me say this for the last time so that all of you who are reading impaired will understand... I like Rose the player....I despise Rose the man. Sorry if I may be one of a few fans who can separate the two.

Who really cares about steroids in baseball anymore? I want them gone as much as the next guy...but what's done is done. You all sit around like you're amazed someone is guilty. Pah-lease. Most players are guilty.....I wouldn't doubt the beloved Ripken used. Nobody is beyond reproach at this point.

MLB NEEDS a new commisioner and a stronger testing policy with severe penalties for those that test positive. Do yourself a favor and pull up my pasts posts on the subject and see how many times I've said that....more than once....more than twice. Read my stance on the matter instead of being a lookie-loo with nothing but remarks about the player I like.

What does that have to do with Oswalt? Do the player's get to pick thier teammates? (So what was your point?) :?
