It's all BS.
Ricky will be hearing about 18,000 screaming T Wolves fans chanting RUBIO come early November this fall. Kid is going to put the Wolves back on the NBA map. He has the entire city wanting to see him play. Target Center hasn't had anything exciting happen there since 2003.
I'm saying now. With Rubio, Flynn, Love and Big Al. Wolves will be back into a fight for a playoff spot this year. 500 could get them in the 8th spot.

Holy over-elongated signature Batman! Jeez. I remember everyone complaining about it countless other times, me included.

Care to oblige us and shorten it up please?

No kidding. Why hasn't a MOD done it already?

Mods don't frequent the basketball boards often, and this guy doesn't post a ton even when we do get a mod visitor.

Good luck with that, hold your breath for 2 rookies (one undersized and one skinny that can't shoot, Big Al coming off an injury and Love who can rebound but shoots like a guard.....a new coach.......doomed for dead last.

Rubio, Curry, Al, and Love would have been a nice foundation. I think the Wolves really blew it after the Rubio pick.

Rubio will likely be traded. He said he doesn't want to play here and the T-Wolves probably knew that drafting him (which is why they also drafted Flynn). I just hope we can get something for this brat.

I don't get why these foreign players (Rubio, Yi) think they get to choose where they get to play in the NBA. If you want to play in the NBA, you will enter the draft you will get selected by any team that wants to pick you, you don't get to make a list of the teams you want to play for. You get no choice in the matter, if you want to play in the NBA you play for the team that drafts you, regardless is you like the weather of the city or if the market isn't big enough for you.

It costs these players money to come to the NBA. Rubio has (I think) a 6 million dollar buy out with his Spanish team and the wolves can only contribute 500k to that. So it will cost him 5.5 mill out of his own pocket to play for the wolves. I'd be a little more careful where I chose to go if I had to put down that type of money.

Yup, and they do have a choice, because big teams overseas will pay him just as much as he would get paid by the wolves. Realistically he should've just said, do not draft me, I will not sign to a bunch of teams so he could've gotten picked by the Knicks. Or he could have signed as a non-drafted Free-Agent which I believe has no contract restrictions. Once again the Wolves are going to get jacked, they didn't even have first round picks a while ago(Joe Smith).

If Rubio wants to play for another NBA team, he is going to have to sit out of professional basketball for a full year. The Wolves will not trade him. All these trade rumors are media driven, especially rumors to NY. The Knicks have absolutely nothing to give the Wolves for Rubio. People need to understand that the Wolves can afford to wait on him, this team is not going anywhere and is rebuilding. They owe a 1st rounder to Clippers, but it is top 10 protected so the Clippers certainly won't be getting that next season. The Wolves could have as many as 3 1st round picks next season all being in the top 18. The Wolves are in good shape.

It is possible that Rubio could wait three years overseas, build up his game, and then return to the NBA so the Wolves get nothing, would be sad for the Wolves because they got ****** on this. The Kid should play, but likely won't, at least you got Flynn who is very good and young. Plus I think Corey Brewer is due for a big year.

The other thing is that the Wolves should have done their homework and talked to Rubio before the draft. They could have either traded the pick or drafted someone else if he had said he didn't want to play there.

Rubio will be the starting point guard opening night on the T Wolves. He isn't going to stay overseas and play for 95K, plus teams are going bankrupt in Europe. He is already suing the team that has his rights. I'm sure they will agree on some buyout deal. Msts likley the team gets 500k from Wolves and then Rubio pays a few hundred K installments over a period of of a few years.
Rubio will get some nice endorsement cash playing in the NBA. The Wolves will use him as the centerpiece marketing guy for ticket sales. He is most marketable player they have. He will sell a lot of tickets in Target Center.

I'm Willing to bet he doesn't play for the wolves next year. His Mom, Dad and Rubio have all stated they don't want to play in the city. Why take someone that doesn't want to play for you?

You may be be right, but I am under the impression the Wolves would still hold his rights.
