Wow.

I have shared this thread with a number of co-workers, friends and family members and they have all been truly touched by the outpouring of support for Adam. Unfortunately, there is no good news as Al has officially been taken off life support and is at peace with God. Tragedies like this are inexplicable, so I can't thank you enough for helping Adam at least find some comfort as a result of your kindness.

Very much appreciated, again, I'm overwhelmed by the support and generosity.

Services are this weekend, I'll be updating everyone as packages come in and Adam is given his goodies. I'm going to get him a couple of binders and pages as well so he can store everything and have a good time putting his new collection together with me or whoever else he wants to share it with.

Only found one Jeter game used card, but found like 20 or so Jeter base as well as a bunch of other Yankees. Couldn't fit them into one mailer, so two mailers are on the way from me, mailed yesterday morning. Can't wait to see his reactions to all of these packages. Keep us posted.

My package is going out today...
If its possible, could you record him opening up all the packages to see the expression on his face as he opens all of them....

Please send me your address. I haven't been busting much new stuff in recent years, but I ought to be able to put together a small Yankees package.

Sucks to lose a parent at any age. I lost my dad in 1997 and my mom only about 7 weeks ago and even though I have a beautiful wife and 3 kids to keep me busy I still found lots of calm and comfort in going through my cards, pulling out old sets and thumbing through them. Hopefully little Adam will get some distraction through cards as he deals with the loss.

My prayers are with him...

Update for everyone - wake was yesterday, funeral was this afternoon. Adam is holding up surprisingly well but I'm sure reality will kick in sometime in the coming weeks once the overwhelming flood of people are gone and life returns to normal for he and his mom. I spoke with his mother and grandparents about the amazing gesture made by so many on here and we decided that in lieu of throwing a bunch of packages at him now, I'll head up there in a few weeks to drop everything off when we can sit together and go through it all. And let me tell you - there is PLENTY to go through!!! It's truly amazing how much stuff has come in, the mailman had to deliver an entire postage bin yesterday (will post pictures at a later date). The rest of my week is going to be extremely busy catching up on missed work, especially since I am heading out of town for the weekend this Friday, but I will check back with updates and pictures when possible. He is a great kid and definitely loves his Yankees so I can't wait to deliver his haul. Again, I can't thank everyone enough. I'll definitely get pictures when the packages are delivered.

Grateful,
John
