Selling off part of a collection....

So I'm thinking of selling off part of my Red Sox GU and auto collection. I've got over 2,000 different GU and autos of different Sox players and I really do love them all but I just don't have the room to store them anymore. I'd be keeping a lot of it still but I'm thinking I could move about half of the collection and still be very happy with what I had. I'd keep all my Doerr's and most of the high value stuff but what's the best way to move the rest? Small lots, larger lots, player lots? Any thoughts or ideas would be much appreciated.

Also I'm wondering if I should start during spring training or wait until the season starts....

Think stars on their own then small lots. That's what I prefer anyway.
I'm looking for any sweet spot autos if you have any. Not much for Sox I have.

Depends how fast you want to move them old friend. Looking to get rid of them quick? 10-15 card lots on eBay I would say is the fastest. If time is no hurry, I would say list individually on eBay and COMC and get the most for your investment.

And of course, if you ever change you mind on the Doerr's....

I agree, they have so many stars, I think that's your best bet. I'll take a look at a Clemens list

I would sell the bigger names solo or in very small lots. You don't need to bundle a bunch of Fisk autos, or Papi, etc. together to move them. In fact, I think bundling those may hurt you. Lesser sought names like Lynn, Napoli, etc. may do better in lots. But, it always depends on the nature of the cards - how limited are they, what does the patch look like, etc. Net, net bundle the low end cards and players as a Red Sox Auto Lot always get some attention on eBay, but let the big ones stand on their own. As far as timing goes, wait until we are in spring training and fans (like me) have fantasies of a playoff run. That will help your prices.
