Good thing you can actually see a few cards in one of the packs, or else I'd say worst case is you'll get a box and a bunch of empty wrappers. Interesting gamble!

Real happy to pick up the '98 Longevity Chavez. The Rich Harden/5 was an auction steal for 99 cents, I'll buy all the Mirror Emerald A's you've got for 99 cents!

These were my favorites from a big A's insert lot I bought. The upside of not keeping up with the pace of recent releases is that I can buy a big lot and actually need practically all the cards.

Yeah they pop up here and there but it's very infrequent, at least nowadays. And I know all about those "organizational improvement" projects. As soon as one part of the collection is re-organized, another part needs it.

I collect some of Hudson/Zito/Mulder after they went to other teams. This particular card was the next to last non-promo MLB Showdown card on my wantlists. The last one I need is a foil Reggie Jackson from the 2003 Pennant Run series. There's a few on eBay but it's hard to bring myself to pay $30 for an MLB Showdown card.

if it’s last one you need, $30 doesn’t seem too bad. Maybe you could cut a deal and get it a little cheaper but I understand where you are coming from 👍

True, if I were way into the MLB Showdown cards it'd be nothing to pay $30 for it. But as a team collector it's just one of hundreds of instances where it's the last one I need for a particular set, or run of sets, or the last card I need of a particular player. I'll see if it ever pops up for auction with a low minimum bid. That being said...there's a good chance I'll end up buying it a year or two from now, for $40. haha

Those older refractors from back when they put some effort into it and textured the background look so good scanned. And it's always a good day when a Star Ruby Extreeeeeme arrives in the mail.

Hey, I actually got Best Case - it was the full box of cards with 4 hits, inserts, parallels and base. Unfortunately it was a pretty crappy box for 2004 Donruss World Series. For $10 I got:

Rickey Henderson AL Jersey #028/100 (corner ding)
Ben Sheets NL Jersey #058/250
Marcus Giles AL Jersey #165/250
Ivan Ochoa RC Auto #480/487

Milton Bradley Blue Holo Parallel #01/10
Paul Molitor MVP Insert Holo Parallel # 26/50
Moises Alout Holo Parallel #042/100
Phil Rizzuto Legends of the Fall Insert #273/500
Roy Oswalt Playoff All-Stars Insert #127/500
Alan Trammell MVP Insert #0947/1000
Apolo Onno Fans of the Game Insert
24 Blue SP Parallels (one per pack parallel)

And the pièce de résistance, at least for me,
Mark Grace Blue SP Parallel Holo #064/100

box,jpg.jpg

Well took a chance on this auction. $10 ($14 shipped) for a box of opened cards. What do you think I'll get? Hoping for at least #2, but for $10 worst case will be okay. Box is 2004 Donruss World Series. Like buying a cheap lottery ticket. Unopened it's a $120 box.

1) Worst Case - base card only
2) Middle Case - base and some inserts/parallels
3) Best Case - base, inserts and 3 jersey/auto hits

I guess I would really need to know more about how they are operating during Covid, but it seems stupid ridiculous for it to take that long, but then again regular run of the mill shipments before covid were getting to be 1 month or so. They got big and either want to keep costs down (profits up) or maybe can't find people to do the work. Redmond is not exactly the low rent area and I know they are not paying much above minimum wage (if not right at it) per hour for unskilled labor.

For almost three months they weren't operating at all because the state shut them down as non-essential. Their eBay service is causing part of the overload too I'm sure but hopefully they'll get caught up soon. I pretty well just stack stuff up and have them ship about once a quarter but were times really a month? My last shipment was requested 2/21 (before they shut down) and in hand 3/6.

Basic shipping was being delayed at least 3 months from request, other service levels were on time. Didn't seem like they were "shut down" at any time. On the flip side, submissions were delayed.

Haven’t been buying a ton, saving up for a big purchase, but this popped up, was sold, then relisted by the buyer, but couldn’t sell and price kept dropping. Found him selling on reddit too and made a deal there for it, probably overpaid but don’t really care

I now have the opening day, Series 1 and now Chrome 1/1s. I still need the Ben Baller and Sapphire when it releases but nice to have all the original flagship 1/1s

Love the look of those. Did you see the recent documentary on Wood's 20K game? Think I saw it on the Cubs Network, not ESPN. Made me want to go on eBay and buy a Kid K card.

thanks they really are impressive in hand. i did see that documentary. was awesome hearing kerry recall the atmosphere of that day. if you still have the itch, i have this base refractor rc available.
