I thought this would be an interesting thread.

We all know BV is just a guide, but share pics of cards that BV goes out the window on.
It can either be a card that you bought or just simply one you saw sell on ebay.

Plus i know people like reasons to laugh at things...it's good for the health! :lol:

Just won this, which inspired the thread
It was at $56 and bv was only $40. I set my snipe at $60 before I saw it get up to $56 so raised my snipe to $113...good thing...it sold for $81

Book value ($2) is a joke on this card - 1994 Topps Black Gold ABCD Winner. $50-$75 on last 3 ebay auctions I've tracked. I'll pay $50 for the send-in version (this is the redeemed version - says certified under ABCD, send-in version does not).

It was at $56 and bv was only $40. I set my snipe at $60 before I saw it get up to $56 so raised my snipe to $113...good thing...it sold for $81

I'm noticed posada's cards have been selling very high...generic sticker autos getting $40+ with his nicer stuff and on-card autos going $60-$80 for some of the lower BV cards. Things are going for about 2x what I paid 2-6 years ago. I have around 60 different jorge posada autographs. Maybe I should sell.

If I was sitting on a boatload, i would sell. There really aren't very many certified autos even made of his, and they usually seem to do well.

If I was sitting on a boatload, i would sell. There really aren't very many certified autos even made of his, and they usually seem to do well.

If posada wasn't one of my all-time favorite players and the major player i collected I'd sell, lol. Even now I'm tempted but I just can't bring myself to do it. As for his autos I think I have most of his aside from 1-2 dozen #/25 or less (most #/10 or less) and only 2 that are more plentiful (01 sp authentic update #/100 and 04 sp authentic chirography bronze duo-tone #/60). In the grand scheme of things, I'm not hurting for money and I enjoy collecting. Plus, I figure the level of completeness to which I have his autographed cards in my collection could only be achieved once in a lifetime.
