Shoeless joe auto on pawn stars

Rick dropped 13k on a book auto'd by him w/o getting it certed.

First certifier didn't think it was real, so was sent off to another (couldn't tell who) & that came back bogus as well.

But I wonder if any of what it "looked like" is actually real, as in was it all staged?

All staged. I've been told to read Rick's book as he pretty much lays out that 100% of the show is fake.

I find it highly unlikely that someone who has been in business that long and has been that successful would be reckless enough to drop $13k on an auto without it being authenticated.

Yea i have a feeling he bought that dimaggio jersey when the seller only wanted i think like 5k. Framed and certified by 3 different companies. But he said he couldnt make a deal but...

That's sad that is it staged... I actually like the show. On the other hand, I've been to their shop in Vegas and it is NOTHING like the show. It's a zoo and you don't ever see any of the main guys.

I knew the people & items are set up before the shows air (not walk ins) but I didn't think the final outcome was known until filming.

Cajun Pawn Stars is filmed like 10 minutes from my office. I've been in Silver Dollar numerous times. They call around asking for people to bring in stuff, and the items are never really purchased. There are some - however - items shown on the show that are already owned by the shop.

I was watching it with my girlfriend and when the guy brought in the book I said it was a fake lol. They are just trying to make good tv, but still keep it somewhat real

Why do people watch this stuff if staged. What is actually staged, obviously the filming, etc, but are we saying that all of these items brought in are not from these people and just some fictitious items and prices.

Most of them are items that belong to people the workers know that they call and say "hey, bring that in"

Right, but I still think the show is a light and enjoyable vehicle to occaisionally learn something and still see some really cool old items regardless of how or even if there is an actual transaction behind it
