Have any of you guys invested short term in a California league prospect in hopes for flipping them based on their inflated Cal League stats?

Last year I picked up a bunch of Chris Dominguez stuff thinking he would play in the Cal League... but he didn't. I'm thinking he's the type of player who could get a price raise with his potential power numbers. *Fingers crossed for Goldschmidt numbers*

Check out Arenado. He's starting the year in Modesto and should MASH in the Cal.

I have had this thought myself-about grabbing a few guys that are headed to the CAL league.

Guys like Nick Franklin, Matt Davidson, and Nolan Arenado should all have nice seasons.

I like Bobby Borchering this year in the Cal League.

+1 agreed 100%

I also think jean segura is going to have a monster season this year. 43 extra base hits in the midwest league should turn into quite a few homeruns for him.

I believe it was 46 XBH, and Segura could be a guy who unfortunately doesn't last long in the CAL, but can put up some ridiculous numbers.

In reading through Mariners blogs and such, it is believed that Nick Franklin would start out in West Tennessee (AA) since he finished the year there last year. Could be wrong though. I do like him, and Borchering.

There's another theory that you can buy low on guys coming out of the Florida State league and sell them when they hit better hitting environments as well. Doesn't always work.
