For the buyer, the quarter is already in the price of the card. Its not a seperate additional charge when I buy the card. If the card is listed for 2 bucks, It just two bucks, not $2.25.

I never ask for a toploader (they cost extra in checkout). I get my cards in penny sleeves, and comc bundles them in a team bag between two toploaders. Its perfect.

Shipping is three bucks.

COMC, you are doing fine. Dont change a thing.

I understand what you're saying, but if the card is listed for $2, I believe the seller as the card listed at $1.75 and then COMC added the $0.25 on top of that because the seller is not the one who has to pay that, the buyer does

Understood, but in the grand scheme of things, the price listed is what you pay, not added during checkout. And thats ok with me.

I understand that as well. But for set collectors it doesn't make much sense to go to COMC for singles since the minimum they will pay is the $0.25 plus whatever the seller has the card priced out, essentially making a set extremely expensive to work on using COMC. I love going to COMC for my player collection though. There are plenty of cards listed there that I will not find anywhere else at a reasonable price after factoring in shipping elsewhere

While I respect your opinion, i still say selling on ebay will make you more of a profit over COMC.

As for operational costs, once you have the site up and running, the operational costs would be minimal. As for not cheap to scan cards, add descriptions, put in stock, store, pick up and ship?? Tedious, SUre... Expensive? There is no real expense other than an hourly wage to someone willing to scan, store and ship the cards. how much does it cost to scan and store?? There is no description, just a title which is already in their database, scanning the cards.... 30 seconds? I don't know but I scan a put cards in sportscard forum all the time and it is not difficult. Already have a title and I just need to scan the card. Yes their is a large quantity but once it it scanned what does it cost them? They charge you to ship so you are still paying for that. To each his own but just not worth it to me.

We are talking about millions of cards here. I don't think you fully understand what type of infrastructure is needed to support a site of that size as well as their inbound and outbound operations. This doesn't even include the business system they have in place that tracks the inventory and financial side of their business.

I agree with you that eBay can be more profitable, but what is more profitable? A few more dollars per card or not having to invest the time to get those extra dollars? Each seller is different, and makes that decision on their own.

For the record I sell on eBay and COMC. I like both methods for what they are.

I do actually understand the type of infrastructure that it takes. And i can appreciate the site for what it is. All I am saying is if I was selling for profit, I won't sell there as the end doesn't justify the means to ME..
Scary thing to think about as well, let us say they aren't making a lot of money (which I think they are). What happens if the business shuts down or goes B/K?... What happens to your cards?
Also, on the site it says They have a link for COINS AND BANK NOTES coming soon.. I don't know about you, but would people really send physical gold/platinum/silver or real bills to them? That is a scary thought.. Maybe I am old school, but I like more control over my personal belongings.
