Oh I wish sandoval was eligible.

Right now i think:

NL:
Toss up between 'Cuth and Hanson, a little more on Andrew's Side

AL:
Porcello, for now. Winning lots of games for the Tigers, and has a pretty decent ERA (Even though he is not pitching well tonight vs the athletics).

In a thread that has nothing to do with the Giants, you still find a way to toss a guy in there?

Unbelievable.
You are annoyed so easily and make even less of a relevant post in the thread.

People have been posting about Porcello and the O's guy and was just wondering the board's thoughts...

If Sandoval wasn't ineligible (by 20 AB's) he'd be hands down the ROY. Don't hate because you wish he was on your team.

AL: Brad Bergesen

NL: Tommy Hanson

No one with a bat has impressed me in the AL, porcello will fade as his innings increase....after tonight he will be 9-5 with a 3.90 ERA....the alarming part is that he doesn't strike anyone out for being a touted as a strike out pitcher. Porcello only managed to go 4 1/3 tonight and not even allowed to break 80 pitches.....playing half the game you better #1) score early and often #2) shut out your opponent. It will be hard for him to win more than 15 games.

Brad Bergesen if he can win against Beckett (tough task) would be 6-2 and have a sub 4.00 ERA. He has allowed 9 ER his last 45 innings pitched and has gone 7,8,9 innings consistently.

Bergesen has allowed 2 runs or less in 5 of his last 6 starts. The only time he allowed more than 2 was when the inherited runners scored on a 3-run HR.

I have compared the numbers for Bergesen and Porcello and they are mirror images of one another.

Enlighten me if I'm unaware - but how are Hanson and ESPECIALLY McCutchen available for the ROY if Sandoval isn't?

The key to Hanson winning is the ability to go deep into the game. He will be involved in many 3-2 games, 2-1 and 3-3 heading into the top of the 6th......his ability to go that extra batter or two will be the difference between 2-3 no-decisions and 2 or 3 wins.

I agree with Johan. What is the point of bringing up Sandoval? He isn't eligible. Get over it.

AL- Porcello

NL- Hanson

Very easy : Sandoval played a month in Sept last year. Too many at bats to qualify as a rookie.
Hanson and cutch have never had a plate appearance or an inning in the bigs. I believe anything less than 53 innings and 120 plate appearance is the cut off.

The rule is if you have over 125 At bats and like 35 or so innings pitch you are no longer considered a rookie. Sandoval had over 125 last season (like 150 or so) so he is no longer considered 'rookie' even though this is his first full season.

Hanson and McCutchen both got called up this year so they are eligible for the ROY award.

hope this helps.

Didn't notice.

Beckham could make a run for it if he stays hott (assuming he stays there the entire year, I would think so).

AL: Ricky Romero or Scott Richmond :D

Both having fantastic seasons yet never mentioned in ROY threads. Romero's IP are a bit lower because of his stint on the DL but Richmond has pitched 78.1 innings and has better numbers than porcello (aside from wins, a team stat) and bergesen ( in pretty much every category except ip).

Hanson has a 20 inning scoreless streak currently going and has less than a 1.0 WHIP. Then again I am trying to convince someone who thinks a .200 hitter has a chance at the AL ROY ::facepalm::

Hanson has been dominant, but don't you expect higher K numbers?

when i think of Ks i think of last year with Edinson Volquez......he K'ed tons of people.....but he was throwing 105-110 pitches in 6 innings then he tailed off at the end of the season.....he can have 0 Ks as long as he has a 0 era lol.
