Considering UD bankrolled Razor and UD is now able to make their own Razor type Draft releases I am not sure why UD would continue to fund Razor. Maybe they will come out with Upper Deck Razor release but not sure why UD would still need the separate Razor brand.

I hope they go away just like Tri-star junk, Press Pass, Sage, and Just Minors. Proud to say I've never opened any of this garbage.
I think Press Pass makes nice products usually nice designs with on-card autos. Now it is a lot of NCAA and Nascar and may not be for everybody but I always thought they did a good job for what they did. Upper Deck can hopefully do the NCAA stuff at least as good as Press Pass did with lots of on card autos. But they probably won't.

I agree there, press pass was a cut above that list.

If people didnt deny, then hint at other things, talk in circles and straight up lie no one would be able to assume anything. But sadly thats all people where dealt.

so what's better, them lying or you spreading false information?

UD does not own Razor

That memo did not even claim that.

I dont think you meant me personally since I never spread anything, so I vote for lying is worse. That memo struck me as fake a few hours after I first seen it, but people who where credited on knowing what they where talking about said its true, add that and the sudden convenient silence and you have yourself a perfect storm of bull crap.

That isn't true either. UD did not lose its MLBPA licence, and that was the one on the hook.

They should be....I am loving the fact that a few of us here on the boards pointed out several of the flaws in Razor's business plan, only to be denounced as "Razor basher's"...Quite hilarious really. With that said, I am invested in Razor metal (although part of me is just hoping to break even on the whole damn thing)...

That isn't entirely what happened.

Those that pointed out flaws in the "business plan" were dismissed because they couldn't possibly know enough information to make an accurate call.

And they still don't have enough information to make an accurate call.

The day I realized they shouldn't be making baseball anymore was when first they claimed there was no surface damage or centering issues to the metal series, it was just the scans. Then a week later they say "some will be sp'ed due to quality control" and a day later "we stand by our products for any reason if you are not satisfied we will accept a refund" and then a week later on their ebay page "We don't guarantee grades only way we refund money is if you get less than a bgs psa 8".

And they still don't have enough information to make an accurate call.

Lets see....

-Saying that a superior brand (i.e. that "exquisite product", or "metal) would kill the value of the debut product was dismissed because you said that each product would have its own "niche."

-Saying that players might not necessarily have the same growth rate due to the fact they are Razor exclusives was dismissed (all cards across the board have dropped in value after release, even those who went on hot streaks and made it on to the BA hot list).

-Saying that Razor Lettermen had no place in the prospecting market because only "collectors" would be interested was dismissed (have you looked at lettermen single pricing lately).

I'd say those three assumptions did indeed come true. They sold out their '08 product....good for them. I would love to see them try and sell out another, as MANY are taking huge losses on their breaks and even on their investments.

-Saying that a superior brand (i.e. that "exquisite product", or "metal) would kill the value of the debut product was dismissed because you said that each product would have its own "niche." I said this? When? Interesting, please don't put words in my mouth.

-Saying that players might not necessarily have the same growth rate due to the fact they are Razor exclusives was dismissed (all cards across the board have dropped in value after release, even those who went on hot streaks and made it on to the BA hot list). The hot list has been ineffective this year pretty much across the board. Even guys in chrome did not see spikes after strong hot list showings.

-Saying that Razor Lettermen had no place in the prospecting market because only "collectors" would be interested was dismissed (have you looked at lettermen single pricing lately). I said from the start that letterman was a bad gamble. I love it now because it allows me to pick up good players for cheap, but never did I say it was a good idea.

I know you were among the people that were labeling people "razor basher's" for only noting their opinion, and I could have swore that you were one of the many that were saying that Signature Edition would not be damaged by future releases (if you weren't, then sorry). Retrospection is 20/20, so i guess its easy for me to say "I told you so...", but its just frustrating when your arguments (which end up being true) are just thrown out for no apparent reason.

Hopefully people can be Panini-bashers, Topps-bashers, UD-bashers, or Razor-bashers in the future and not suffer the wrath of the board and fear deletion from FCB because of same.

a few facts about my own stance

#1 I always said that signature was an entry level product and it didn't make sense to get too far invested in it.

#2 I said letterman was a flop to begin with

#3 I said buy the player and nothing else matters from the start, and I still stick by that no matter what the current market says.

and jeff, no one feared deletion

not even you. Your issues came from your past antics on the bmb and the continuation of them here on FCB.
