Larkin is a lock. I'm crossing my fingers for Bagwell (why it is even a debate is beyond me).

Who you got?

I'm guessing just Larkin. It will be interesting to see how close some other the others who deserve to get in are.

I'm guessing just Larkin, and I'm absolutely excited about it. Being a 20 year old Reds fan, it will be amazing to see someone I grew up watching be selected for enshrinement.

I met Larkin in 2011 on set of Baseball Tonight, he was super nice and even signed both cards I had for him. I hope he get in.

If you compare him to his peers at shortstop he stands out quite a bit more - he could run, could hit, could field, could hit for some power, et al.

Even though he was dinged up at times in his career, he played 19 seasons in the Major Leagues with one team.

He had an MVP thrown in there too.

Looking at raw numbers it may not be clear immediately, because the shortstop position has morphed from one that was primarily a defensive position, to one where sluggers play. His offensive numbers may not stack up against guys like Arod or Jeter, and current players like Tulowitzki and Hanley Ramirez have been better per season to this point (although they have a very long way to go to come close to matching the career of Larkin.) At the time though, Larkin was a rare, rare breed, a shortstop who really knew how to swing the bat.

There is PED doubt hanging around Bagwell.

And none around Larkin? I don't get it. They played in the same era. If Larkin has never been accused and Bagwell has never been accused and they played in the same era...what's the diff?

Well, when you type Barry Larkin into google, you get...
Barry Larkin stats
Barry Larkin Hall of Fame

When you type in Jeff Bagwell, you get...
Jeff Bagwell stats
Jeff Bagwell steroids

It's not like I have proof or an opinion, but there has been a LOT of suspicion around Bagwell for years.

Larkin told us and a group of fans that he always wanted to be a Cardinal. He said later in the same day in an interview the same thing. But he just couldnt leave the Reds.

And that's complete garbage. I'm not arguing with YOU, I just think it's crap that writers can ASSUME he took steroids b/c he played in that era. Yet, not once has there ever been a shred of evidence he was linked to steroids in any way. His name never appears on any report either.

And yet, here is one of the greatest hitting 1st baseman of all time. When we are talking about 1st baseman, there are only three others I would put ahead of him - Gehrig, Foxx, and Pujols.
