Eh, don't like the idea.

What's wrong with it?

Craig[/quote:37ahekxf]

I personally feel like letter autos are a collector's card more than they are a prospector's card. Maybe down the road when these guys are playing in the big leagues, these will be really popular with collectors But since this is a prospect product, it seems that it is aimed toward prospectors rather than collectors (obviously). And as a prospector, I'd personally rather have a regular auto card (i.e., a BC Auto or even an auto from Razor Signature Series) than a manufactured auto'd "W" card of Kyle Skippworth, for example.[/quote:37ahekxf]

Without team associated colors.... will a Giants fan want a Buster Posey Blue Jersey/White Letter?

I know if I was buying a Cubs player.... Id pass by a Red Jersey/White Letter.... or the Brown I saw that Brian posted.[/quote:37ahekxf]

That makes no sense to me either. They're manufactured patches, it's not hard to get the team colors right, but apparently they decided that it would make more sense not to use the major league team's colors...?

Eh, don't like the idea.

For me it's not the entire idea that I don't like, but I don't like the manufactured aspect (never have, I thought manufactured UD Chronology Letter Men Patch Auto's were....UGH)! :|

If they were game used, it would be a completely different story. But I don't think there is any way they could get anywhere near enough jerseys of each player to turn it into a complete product of the same format that this is setup in.[/quote:fi3dcpea]

So, first you don't like letter products for prospects, but if they were game used it would be OK? I don't really follow your logic.

[quote="AKA Coastal":1pvjqsn8]So what are the chase cards? I've never really followed letterman products.

USA Jersey Redemption 1/1's.

What are the parallel's? 1/1 /5 /50 etc?[/quote:1pvjqsn8]

The USA's are a singular insert, no parallels.

The Letterman Auto patch parallels are #d to 20, 5 and 1.

I still don't like the idea of letter autos for prospects, but if the letters were game-used, the product and individual cards obviously would be much more valuable.

Let me put it this way to help summarize my opinion-
First, would you rather have a Major League or Minor League Jersey of your favorite player?

Second, would you rather the jersey you picked in number one be game used or manufactured?

Were team associated colors ever considered??

Just seems like a better way of producing the set.

As interesting as idiographic treatments are, their most productive use
may be for theory development to which nomothetic analyses are applied.

This is definitely a collectors set over a prospecting set and there is nothing wrong with that. Sure, if any of these guys make it big these cards will increase in value but i really like that I am going to be able to have an autographed nameplate of my guys, even if they are not game used.

Anyone else interested in what the ending prices are going to be? Anyone want to take a stab at it?

About $5-12 more than what they will be in a few weeks

I still prefer the regular autos and the USA autos since I just don't get excited about manufactured patches (but I also know "to each their own")
If these cards were actual game used, that would be sweet as Bea Arthur's pie, but obviosuly that isn't possible

I may or may not pick up Odorizzi stuff.
The softspot of the Metal cards mirroring the Sig Series even though we were promised it wouldn't be that way makes me iffy on buying anything along with the fact that aunt Odorizzi and poppa Odorizzi already plan on spending big on them (price point overinflated on J.O. due to family scooping up his stuff)

This was actually my local shop.

I had plans with the little lady, otherwise i was gonna try and go watch.

However i believe they had a buy to attend policy, and i really didn't want to plunk down this kind of cash right now.

Also, i agree that this is a player collector product, but only prospectors will know about it.
