Nice job by the news station in doing their own research before spending their own time on such a BS story

He's an expert guys. He has 100's of T206's, that's why he could only bid $170 as he had been building a high grade set w variations that was costing quite a bit. and conducted a 26 card inspection. I'm sure in his expert grading career he had handled both real and fake Wagners. Haters (or as he says gathers) gonna hate.

It shows a bid of $170 (at least in the linked listing) , not sure where that BO amount came from ...???

When I was replying I had opened the link from Austin and not the one from the OP. Same card though, just went first on a BO as a reprint then sold as original which is where the story comes from. Regardless of the link you use, the picture matches the one in the article.

Got ya , all good , just didn't know where that had came from. Still crazy such a story actually has spread. No news other than bad story written and lack of fact checking

If you were contacted by a little old man who was basically giving away his baseball card collection and you saw this laying in there, you can't tell me that you wouldn't toss $150 at it as a gamble it's the 1 in a million chance it's the card? I'm sure that is what he was thinking, I'm not sure. Small price to pay for a chance at a million dollar card ;)

So what was the update that station had last night?
MansGame - except this "87 year old man" was an experienced eBay seller with other reprints. This buyer is a certified nutjob.
