Some people get punched in the face and don't fight back. Some people do.

That analogy has about as much relevancy as your Hank Aaron comment. Not all people are the same. When something happens to one person they may or may not necessarily act another way.

They call it... individualism.

Regardless, I do agree he has helped to dig his own grave.

I get that arguement, but, Bradley is trying to believe that he's the only person thats even had racial comments thrown at them

I used Aaron as an example because he persevered through the racism and still produced in baseball.

Did Hank blame bad games on racism? No. Did he have a crap attitude and blame it on the city? No.

Bradley has a bad attitude and feels he should be given royal treatment wherever he plays, and gets pissy when he plays like **** and people bash him for it.

Albeit, there probably was alot of racism, but, if Hank Aaron caan break the homerun record in a time where racism was still widely accepted, and still be humble on the field, I dont see why Bradley cant at least keep his mouth shut

Bottom line here- the Cubs and their fans are pathetic. Milton Bradley is a joke of a player too.

IF Cubbies fans were as bad as he says, it's still no excuse for his behavior that sabatoged his TEAM. Sure, be mad at the fans, sure, leave as soon as you can, but don't act out in ways that harm the TEAM.

I think people would give him more benefit of the doubt if he didn't already have so lousy of a track record. As far as Cubs fans go, I won't ask Shane Victorino, but they make Phillies fans look good in comparison...

The fact that some of you believe this ass clown amazes me. "I used to be good, but then I came to Chicago." He was never "good" for one. and I have never met any Cubs fan who supported th signing of this guy! Did he get racist letters, probably, he also says he got them in Oakland, Texas, and LA, so I guess all A's, Rangers, and Dodger fans are racist also. I'm sure he got some hate mail, but I am sure it had nothing to do with the way he played on the field (tossing a ball into the bleachers with only 2 outs and a run scores) but it was all about his skin color. Funny how people want to label Cubs fans racist when we honor men like Ernie "Mr. Cub" Banks, Andre Dawson, Billy Willliams, Fergie Jenkins, and Buck O'Neil (first black coach in baseball, coached the Cubs.) So good luck Seattle, I can't wait to hear his excuses for sucking there too!

What about a pitcher who punches out his catcher in the clubhouse? Is that sabotaging your team?

If anyone is culpable for "sabotaging" the 2009 Cubs it's Jim Hendry for putting that squad out there and expecting them to be serious contenders. (weak pitching + poor defense + lots of aging vets does not = MLB success)

I just didn't have it in me to pass this quote up. When healthy, he is a very good ballplayer (besides '09).

Let's play the (taken out of) context game!

Career Numbers:

Player A
.277 BA, .371 OBP, .821 OPS, .357 wOBA

Player B
.279 BA, .323 OBP, .806 OPS, .352 wOBA

Player A is Milton Bradley ;)

Player B is Andre Dawson ::facepalm::

So, therefore, according to your logic (which I have taken way out of context) Andre Dawson was never "good".

Hahaha. Your last two posts on this topic are great. Ripping on the pathetic Cubs and their fans is really too easy when you think about it. Really there's no challenge in it. Unfortunately, that takes a lot of the fun out if it.

Come on if people will just stop listen to him speak, he may just shout up.
But when he sucks ass this season in Seattle, who is he going to blame, the passe fans
won't even know he is on the team nor will they really care. I really wish the mariners would play the cubs this
year so he can come back and get his ass boo'd. Maybe I'll go to the Whitesox games when he is in town
and hold up a sign saying were all racist in Chicago. LOL

Cubs fans- you should be glad Bradley is gone. After all, their front office managed to trade him for a lesser player with a significantly worse contract, Carlos Silva. ::facepalm::  If you want to be pissed at anyone, be upset with your sorry excuse for a front office and Alfonso Soriano.

I've come to notice this quite recently actually..
Yeah but you have to hand it to Cubs fans, they stick with them and aren't like a lot of so called "fans" that only like the winning teams like the Yankees or Red Sox. And as far as Bradley goes, whatever "racism" there was towards him only provided him with a excuse to be a little bitch. I'm pretty sure that there will eventually be the same problems wherever he goes so he should learn to deal with it like a man. Everybody has some sort of racism in their lives, EVERYBODY. Most just deal with it or get over it.

I think the one major stat you didn't take into consideration is CHARACTER. This is a very big reason why Dawson is in the HOF and Bradley won't be allowed in the parking lot. Most people don't like whiny ******* and that is why he gets hate mail. You can continue your love fest with Bradley all you want but it will never change how people view him and hehas nobody to blame but himself. No, I am not a Cub fan or a racist.

Anytime you have to go to the character argument when it comes to athletes, you know you're really reaching for something.

I nominate this for dumbest thread of the year, and would like to apologize to the OP for this turning into what it has.

Anytime you have to bash another team in order to feel better about yours, you're really reaching for something.

Ok, now this is just too good to pass up as well, you are comparing Milton Bradley to Andre Dawson?
Wow, great comparison, you should write for Beckett's Rookie Rolodex!
Besides Dawson's 77 ROY, 87 MVP, 8 GG, 8 AS Games, 438 HR, 314 SB, 2774 Hits, and 1581 RBI, which Bradley will not reach any of these numbers. The one award that Dawson received, that Bradley will never touch, guaranteed, and that is the Hutch Award, presented annually to the Major League player who best exemplifies the dedication to team, family and community and exemplifies the honor, courage and perseverance of Seattle-born baseball legend Fred Hutchinson.
When I think of "good" players in MLB, Milton Bradley never has and never will cross my mind as a "good" player. That is my opinion.

Bradley was a waste of time and money.
The FANS as well as the ballclub should be mad at the return on investment for this clown!
He is a selfish player. Always has and always will be. Me first. Every club that gets ride of him says the same thing. I am glad that ME FIRST JACK*** is gone. We will see if the next DUMB*** can turn him around.
Let's see how these suckers who took him off our hands will pan out. SAME STORY - YET PEOPLE TAKE THIS GUY ON ! They would be better seeing if Travis Lee or Ben Grieve can still swing it and offer them some dough !
