My Uncle lives in Chicago and he said he heard a rumor that when Jim Hendry told the entire team that Milton Bradley would be suspended for the remainder of the season last year, someone started a slow golf clap and it turned it the entire team clapping.

Just like any rumor, I am not sure if it is true or not but it sure would be hilarious if it was.

He was never "good" for one.

I just didn't have it in me to pass this quote up. When healthy, he is a very good ballplayer (besides '09).

Let's play the (taken out of) context game!

Career Numbers:

Player A
.277 BA, .371 OBP, .821 OPS, .357 wOBA

Player B
.279 BA, .323 OBP, .806 OPS, .352 wOBA

Player A is Milton Bradley ;)

Player B is Andre Dawson ::facepalm::

So, therefore, according to your logic (which I have taken way out of context) Andre Dawson was never "good".

Ok, now this is just too good to pass up as well, you are comparing Milton Bradley to Andre Dawson?
Wow, great comparison, you should write for Beckett's Rookie Rolodex!
Besides Dawson's 77 ROY, 87 MVP, 8 GG, 8 AS Games, 438 HR, 314 SB, 2774 Hits, and 1581 RBI, which Bradley will not reach any of these numbers. The one award that Dawson received, that Bradley will never touch, guaranteed, and that is the Hutch Award, presented annually to the Major League player who best exemplifies the dedication to team, family and community and exemplifies the honor, courage and perseverance of Seattle-born baseball legend Fred Hutchinson.
When I think of "good" players in MLB, Milton Bradley never has and never will cross my mind as a "good" player. That is my opinion.

+1 and thanked.

Obviously, Bradley is nowhere near Dawson in terms of being a good ballplayer. Hence, the "out of context" lines. But there is certainly a clear case to be made for Milton as a good player. Yeesh...

You clearly missed the point of my post. ::facepalm::

You know what is really sad about that picture? That is exactly how many hits he has this year in 21 at bats. I'm so glad he is out of Chicago. Although, he doesn't look much happier....

Thanks
Craig

all jokes aside, Id still rather have him than that fat useless Silva. Bradley may not have a great year or even a good year, but he will probably have a high on-base by the seasons end, whereas the only thing Silva will have high is his blood pressure

Good article by Olney in his daily aritcle on MB.

I still think they both stink, but IMO Silva has a better chance to bounce back at some point.

Silva has a chance to bounce back to what? Being a well below average starter instead of downright terrible?

silva does already bounce with every step :D

as for milton, he is only 2 years removed from his best year, and he has already made a few friends.. which is more than he ever had in chi town. Id say he has the better shot at bouncing back.

after watching yuni betancourt play, Id rather have an Ahole than the worst postion player ever who just doesnt care. Id rather have a guy who cares a little too much and breaks bats on his knees.
I think thats why Ms fans are giving this guy the chance

Silva has probably been the single worst pitcher in all of baseball the last 2 years. I'll take a clubhouse cancer over someone who just plain sucks any day.

Bradley is both.

And Silva's first outing as a Cub wasn't bad at all.

Just cause a guy had one bad season with your team doesn't mean he sucks.

As for Silva, glad his one outing was good. In 2008 he started out with a 3-0 record and a 2.79 ERA in April...then finished the season 4-15 with a 6.16 ERA.
