Not a huge loss, but got a huge prospect. why would they let him go now?

True true. That's an interesting read, though. I'd think it'd take Bowden or Masterson and some other nice prospects? I'm curious to know who the Indians would want for Laporta and how much they value Laporta.

Interesting stuff from Buster Olney. Although it would be great to see Shrek in a Red Sox uniform, I wouldn't want to think about the great pitching prospects they would have to give up in return.

Red Sox would be complete idiots to just trade for an unproven player. Now if LaPorta was in a package deal that included a couple proven Indians hitters a la DeRosa or somebody the Indians would sensibly part with, that would be a good deal.

I seriously doubt Victor is going anywhere, but I could be wrong. He's the best hitter on the team and if we had anyone that would be considered our captain it would be V-Mart. I would flip if we traded him. I also don't think LaPorta is going anywhere after we got the deal we did last year. However, I wouldn't be shocked to see Peralta go to the Sox or anyone for that matter.

I think he probably will though for 2 reasons, 1, they have Carlos Santana for next year, 2, they can get some very good pitchers/pitcher for him, and bullpen help on top of that.
