I had been telling people Wisconsin is a lot less of a lock than people think. I was right...they were the second to last team in, just ahead of Arizona.aw00d05 said:i thought they should've been in instead of wisconsin.

I'm not sure St. Mary's is a snub. I had them in, and I wanted them in to see if Mills could go Steph Curry on us, but they were a flawed team. It's funny to hear all the talk about expanding the field when, IMO, not even the last few teams in each year are deserving. St. Mary's wasn't that deserving, but neither were the teams that got in (Arizona, Wisc)
Atleast Zona beat good teams (Kansas, UCLA, Washington, Zaga) Wisconsin's best win was Texas.LLWesMan said:aw00d05 said:i thought they should've been in instead of wisconsin.
add arizona to that list for me
AKA Gonzaga...andyduke86 said:Midmajor teams don't deserve to be in unless they either win their conference or actually play and beat a few half way decent opponents. There's a good reason big conference schools like AZ and Maryland get the benefit of the doubt. I really hate the complaining by the small teams when they don't get in. Schedule some good opponents or just win.

That's how I see it as well, except that I thought Mary's could've made a run IF Mills played well which he hasn't since coming back though.ProspectorsAdvantage said:I'd for sure rather have St.Mary's over Wisconsin, not Zona though. Zona seems like a team that could make a run, I don't see that for St.Mary's(if they had made it) or Wisconsin.
Too bad the RPI means nothing during the selections.LLWesMan said:andyduke86 said:Midmajor teams don't deserve to be in unless they either win their conference or actually play and beat a few half way decent opponents. St. Mary's RPI was better than Arizona and a number of other teams that made it in.
How many tournament teams did they beat? Hell, how many did they play?? They played two, and beat one. That one was Utah State...not exactly Duke or UNC. Coaches make their schedules with RPI in mind, trying to make it as easy as possible while still having a good RPI. Their RPI looks good because they played a lot of road games...but most of them were road games where they should have been heavily favored anyway. They only played 7 top 100 games, and lost 4 of them. Sorry, in no way do those numbers tell me they are deserving of being considered one of the top 65 teams in the nation.LLWesMan said:KandKCards said:I had been telling people Wisconsin is a lot less of a lock than people think. 26-6 and missing your best player for most of the year is a pretty good season in any sport to me.
Brad said:I say this when it comes to football as well: If you want real consideration, play in a real conference. Maybe they did get screwed, but their schedule does not help them too much.
Reds in 2009 said:For anyone saying Wisconsin didn't deserve to make it, you are wrong. They simply played a tougher schedule than St. Mary's.
St. Mary's had the 149th toughest schedule, Wisconsin had the 16th toughest schedule.
That right there is the reason St. Mary's is out and Wisconsin is in.
So for those who are all upset that St. Mary's got left out need to get over it, they didn't deserve it with the schedule they played.
