Now all the sellers have to worry about the dreaded "0-feedback hype-buyer".

I think I'll get fracked on this one: [ebay:3u8bdq1s]170494207976[/ebay:3u8bdq1s]

I tried to be forthcoming, but tell that to some idiot who has nothing to lose ::facepalm::

You got lucky as of right now. My buddy has the same card not OC that only has 8 views and 1 bid with 1 day left.

That's what I was worried about with the one I had ending after the game so I made sure to note all problems with it (there was a minor scratch) to try to give potentially remorseful buyers no reason to say item was not as described.

But the guy who won mine already paid 8-)

The only thing that sucks about days like today? Casual buyers who have bought into the hype.

Sadly, there is already a stigma around this hobby in terms of value/maturity/longevity...these days only help fuel that. Folks are spending large sums of money on cardboard that can only see decline in value over time. When they go to cash in, they'll find out all of the stigmas are true.

Hype only lasts so long, and once Strasburg has a 27 K game, he'll be hardpressed to pitch a 28 K game unless the stars align perfectly.

It's an exciting day in the sport and hobby for folks like us who understand these things...sadly, it will only push away hopeful life blood in the long haul and potentially attract newcomers of a potentially nefarious nature.

Even as he has more cards available the prices will drop.

In the long run (say 25+ years), these cards may be worth more than today if it turns out that Strasburg dominated throughout his career and pitched his way to the HOF. Other than something like that, I just don't see these cards holding value as new product come out and flood the market with more Stras Rookie Cards.

I can't see them holding even in that case. Nothing against Strasburg. Just too many cards will be out.

The baseball fan not sitting in front of their computer watching every pitch live needs to wake up tomorrow morning and see all the coverage on TV, web, whatever.

I'm thinking there will be a spike unless people think Pittsburgh is really that bad of a team.

Well, my Strasburg-hype auction did not go so well...(the mis-cut purple refractor, if you recall). It ended for $60.

Then I got accused of shilling, but to be honest I can't blame him for accusing me. A bidder with (3) feedback asked me to retract his bid because he would not be able to pay, which I did because I didn't want to deal with the headache. This was with 2 hours to go. Then a (0) feedback bidder was the loser at the last second. Very suspicious-looking, and I was called out on it, but the buyer is taking me at my word now that I offered some explaination. So it was a headache to think of the proper defense without offending, but its seemingly good now.

Ugh....not my week....

At least your strasburgs sold. I have two different strasburg lots up and havent had the first offer or watcher all night long. I feel like my listing got lost between all the other strasburg listings.

My 2008 UD USA rookie card closed at $91 during the game. Not bad for a card I paid between $1-2 for. Another that closes tomorrow is at $61.

And... I was at the game, section 115. Pretty amazing day.

This is a disgrace I had three sets end under $25.

Yup, I'm staying away from sets. I'm selling all the Stras stuff, and then just sorting everything else, putting them in a box, throwing them in the closet, and hope to move them at some point

My 11 Strasburg's ended right about first pitch and I am very pleased. Cost me $265 exactly to get them in with purchases, 2 boxes and 3 trade/cash deals. I had all 11 as seperate auctions.

3 Chromes sold to the same buyer and 2 base to another buyer.

Base $12.51
Base $12.50
Base $13.03
Base $15.50
Base $22.00
Chrome $28.00
Chrome $22.51
Chrome $21.79
Chrome $25.00
Refractor $121.50
Bowman Orange $92.23

I am very pleased with this round of auctions. Thanks Stephen!!

I actually think his prices may hold for a few days. The way they are talking him up is ridiculous..saying things like 'if he stays healthy, not only could he be a HOFer, but a Historic player'.

The guy is 21 for cryin out loud.

I think the prices might be reasonable if he puts in 3-4 Cy Young Awards in his career. It certainly looks like he has the stuff to accomplish that if he stays healthy.

I can't wait for an outing where his breaking ball isn't almost spot-on like it was Tuesday and see what tweaks he has to do with the fastball and change-ups to try to pitch his way to a decent outing.

Mine all ended as BIN's:

Base RC x2 @ $15 each.
Top 100 Prospect x2 @ $15 each.
Base RC x2 @ $25 each.

Considering I was selling the base rc for $4 when the product released, I'm pretty happy with those prices. I think they are astronomically high for a base bowman rc, but I also realize they are lower priced than many of the ones that ended at auction.

Bill

Edit: As a side note, sickening feeling just set in as I see a Orange Parallel Stras that sold last night for $250... I sold mine for $27.50 three weeks ago.

I'm in the same boat. I've had a BIN/BO posted since the night before the game and I've only got 5 views total.

Assuming that I get paid for all my auctions, Strasburg alone, almost paid for my case of Jumbos that I got early ($800+ in sales last night including a Harper USA Chrome).

This will be the first case I've ever made money on.

I sold a Bowman Expectations with Lincecum last night for $11.19 and a base RC for $27.75. Very happy with both sales

I bought 12 Jumbo Cases for $9550. Strasburg cards alone have netted me over $3000 in sales and I still have a BGS 9.5 Auto, 20 Bowman, 40 Bowman at BGS, 2 Chrome at BGS, and 3 damaged chromes which are ending tonight and already over $60. When it's all said and done, one guy may be responsible for returning HALF of my initial investment. God Bless you Stephen Strasburg....God Bless you. :D

Has anyone looked at the price of the 2010 Topps Strasburg #661 that they released through the Million card giveaway promotion? So far 24 have been unlocked.

There are several on ebay (actually, nearly all of them!). The one ending first is at $300.00 with 55 bids! Like zooinks Scooby!

I had a 2 count lot of refractors sell tonight for $250. My base auto sold BIN last night for $500.

I've got 5 count chrome lot up at 159.99 BIN/BO, and a 10 count base lot up at 199.99 BIN/BO. Both on pace with what auctions sold for in the last few days so I'm hoping that I at least get solid offers in tonight after the game ends

Well the 5 ct chrome lot was hit at that price. $27+ per after fees is solid

And the 10 count base BIN was hit for $200 and paid immediately. Happy with that as well, even if I could make a few more $ selling them individually. Much easier to just package up 10 and sell to one person
