There is no forum software better than the one we are using.

While that's true and a lot if the features are nice, a lot of people must not like it as a lot of the members jumped ship. I like this site a lot and will still visit several times a day. There's some good peeps here whose threads I like reading.

People jumped because thats what people do when things change.

Site tracking?

Look man im just trying to get some honest feedback.

That was auto correct. What I typed initially was lower site traffic.

That was my honest feedback.

A lot of the people who are gone...and some that are still here, don't like the new format.

Honestly, I simply do not buy the format change as a deciding factor of anything. It very well may be used as a 'reason' but more-so as a crutch in my humble opinion. I just can not see how a few minor cosmetic upgrades and a bit more functionality was that end-all be-all to leaving here. I think many/most who left during the switch had already decided to do so and just needed a gentle nudge/excuse. However to add my 2 cents, I just feel the boards have become stale. I can check here once every few days and get caught up on the (very) few threads worth reading. I have no idea how to go about fixing it with so many other viable options out there to migrate to. I wish CG the best of luck though!

Can't disable mobile device sigs without ignoring user. Site needs more content. The Hot List is great, but more is obviously better.

Although I dont doubt what you're saying, the new software is awesome. I can have conversations with people through chat that took a week previously. I cant think of any site that allows you more access to whats happening in the hobby.

The missing key here is...

What does Cgilmo want this site to be?

Clearly establish that goal and then make it happen. From the inception, it seemed like it wanted to be a replacement forum and little else. Ebay links were hopping and no desire to do much more.

The value was community, not content and that's a dangerous cliff to dangle from. Especially when the revenue is tied to it.

Is this supposed to be a hobby resource? It's not...but it could be.

Step back...decide what you want it to be and then make it happen. You've never asked much, nor expected much from the mod "staff" and it shows.

This is a hobby that can use a vocal location, not a mouthpiece.

But FCB needs to decide what it wants to be. Not forum members, but FCB as a "brand." Figure the brand, build the idea and traffic will come to the site.

This may be the best post in the thread. Chris should lay out a vision for what he wants the site to be and then people can decide from there whether it's a vision they want to get behind or not.
