Not trying to argue but that has nothing to do with this thread^ Maybe start another thread if you want to talk about the luxury tax. This is about Tanaka not about luxury tax spending.

The only thing we are debating (myself and you gmsieb) is that you seem to think that the Angels have a very similar chance with the Yanks to sign Tanaka which is just false. The Angels are much more into Garza at this point as has been reported by most media outlets and with tanaka likely to eclipse 100 million there's much doubt that the Angels will want to pay that and get that payroll even higher than it is since they have flopped for years in a row.

Since the Yankees will not get under the tax this year (they were close and probably could've done it had they not gone after Ellsbury AND Beltran) there is no point in them holding back on Tanaka which you seem to think will still happen.

If ARod is suspended for the whole year then I think there is 100% chance that Tanaka ends up in NY. If ARod isn't suspended and his salary count then I think the figure drops to around 50-60%.

I said, if he was thinking about winning, it would be tigers, cards, rangers, sox, I ddint mention the angels .

My opinon is he goes to the dodgers or mariners. Sounds like we agree. Not sure why we are debating

Angles are a top spender.

I know you said that about winning. But if he does think about winning, of the teams involved, the Angels are NOT near the top. The Yanks, Dodgers, Rangers are the top if you look at only the teams mentioned. Angels have a small chance of signing him. Very small. Garza is much much more likely.

I definitely don't see the Red Sox going after Tanaka. For starters they want to stay under the luxury tax, and they have a 6 man rotation as it stands right now. If Tanaka was posted next offseason I would consider them one of the top teams to obtain him.

Again, we just have to disagree and I'm fine with that.

Angels want tanaka much more than they want garza, it's not even close.

The luxury tax, with the top 6 teams, is news worthy.
I started the thread, I'll add it, if I want too.

Bottom line, I continue to give an honest opinion, with no homer pick. (dodgers.mariners) the faves
I think you are a bit more homer in response.

But, you are a yankee fan, from my experience, that's to be expected.

I think garz is what the angels should do. Sign him now and pass on tanaka
but it sounds like they are in on tanaka, so Im ready to watch. I say this with the belief, he
will end up on another team. But maybe they are holding off on garza, because they plan on a
huge offer. They have done it before.

No harm no foul. Let see how it goes.
