Over the course of my time as a hobbyist, I've mainly been a player collector - if you want to categorize me in that fashion. However, when it comes to football I team collect the Titans.
There's only one problem. Many team collectors go after any card related to their team - even if the player was only drafted by their team and released/traded right away. I can't do that. For some reason, I don't care about autographs of your Courtney Roby, Chris Davis, Lavelle Hawkins, Chris Brown, or similar players that came and went for the Titans.
I feel like such a limited view of team collecting takes part of the fun away, and also restricts what I can get. I don't have the budget for numerous autographs of Vince Young, Steve McNair, Chris
Johnson, etc. I know that pieces of other Titans such as the ones listed above would be more manageable - but again, the interest just isn't there.
For you guys who can collect anything and everything, how do you keep the interest in these players going?
