Thanks Dave, I have many more to go to show off  !!

Also, very nice GU!! I have no Williams GU in my collection as I am not a big fan of them as you know. I have a handful of vintage (pre-1970 let's say) that I need for the Teddy collection.....52 Berk Ross, a couple of 60 Nu-Scoops the BIGGIE being the Wilson Franks card.

I'll be honest, I know nothing about the vintage cards you just named. How rare are they? Do they show up on ebay or are they private auction type cards? Do you think you'll land them one day?

Thank you very much! I like the jersey as far as looks better, but I really like having a bat and a jersey! And Maine Mule, keep showing off those rare gems! They are so cool to see.

All are found on EBAY and in private auctions.

The 52 Berk Ross should be had for $200-300+ for a card in low/average condition. The Nu Scoops are $25+

The Wilson Franks are big bucks- PSA 1 on EBAY is $1800+ yuck......

Here's a quote I found "Among the most popular and scarce of the issues associated with the 1950's hot dog market, these cards are quite difficult to find without grease stains due to having been packaged with the meat."

Since I just threw this out there in the "Take a step back in time thread" figured I'd add here as well:

1947 Homogenized Bond Bread Ted Williams (round corners, there is also a square cornerded version)

Re: Happy Birthday to the Splendid Splinter!! Vintage Williams!!

Your Williams collection, is extremely impressive.

To top it off you need both of his 1939 cards....1939 Play Ball RC and his 1939 Goudey (Which is my favorite). The Goudey is very rare, I've only seen it once and it sold for $1500 PSA 3-4 give or take a couple hundred. Gorgeous card.

Looking forward to seeing the rest of your Williams PC...I especially love the 56 Topps and 55 Double Header (modeled after 1911 Mecca double folders, which are very nice also.)

Thanks, saving the Play Balls for another day....... ;)

I have had my eye out for the 39 Goudey as it is one that I need.
