ESPN's John Clayton is reporting that the Cardinals have a released Edgerrin James.

It makes sense since he did ask for his release last year and they did just draft Chris Wells 3 days ago.

He begged the Cardinals to release him this offseason before the draft so that he would have better luck finding a spot. What pricks they turned out to be. I saw on Sunday the Cards would be dropping him, and that the official announcement would come sometime this week.

Because I am sure they tried to trade him first

Theres no doubt they tried to trade him first. Why would you wait til after the draft to release him just to be a ***** when you could have possibly gotten a free pick for him?

He will be a great pickup for someone. He is only 30 so he should have some good years left in him.

I was thinking the same thing. He might not be a no.1 back but he has some touches left in him.

The Cardinals are not pricks here they could not release him before the draft because they could not be certain they would be ale to draft a replacement for him. He asked for his release and they told him they could not until he was replaced and that is exactly what they did. As a Cardinals fan ( from before they were good) I like the way they handled this and it was in the best interest of the team. I also like how they have handled the Boldin situation. I know he is a good Wr and should be paid more but he has been a butt hole about this and thinks he is worth as much as Fritz (best WR in the NFL). They tried to trade Boldin did not get what they wanted so kept him they did not let Boldin or Edge Strong arm them it is nice to see a team think about the team first and the what kinda of product they are selling to us the fans. One thing that bugs me is Leinart he only has 2 seasons left on his contract has had4 OC in 4 seasons and never had much of a fair shot at playing. Only season he started they had no Oline. Wish if they had no faith in him they would have moved him for some picks or something and freed up the cap space.

Actually I think Boldin is just as good, if not better, than Fitzgerald (once Fitz doesn't have Boldin on the other side of him we shall see how good he is...But I am in no way saying Fitz is a slouch by any means, it's just that right now he is a bit overrated due to the season he had last year & the accolades he's received from the past year). :D

I really think Breaston will turn into the leagues top #2 receiver.
