Big win for the Fly-boys!

Anytime you win a road game where you're out-statted, you gotta be happy. I didn't see the game ($%#@! DiTV) but it seems like Bouch played well and had some amazing in-front saves. And the "big boys" still aren't playing too well...

Now if only TB could knock off those stinkin' Pens. ;)

any word on Engellend getting a jersey tonight?

Coach Bylsma said the lineup will be announced at game time.

Sidney Crosby did not practice for the 2nd straight day as per doctor's orders. he is in Tampa Bay with the team and is still lifting and riding the bike but he hasn't skated since Friday morning. I'm not sure what to make of this news. his status hasn't changed and he is still allowed to workout but the Pens say he hasn't been cleared for contact.
Hopefully that's the calm before the storm. :D

Buffalo lost game on that weak 5-3 in 3rd. Was a smart move by Boucher to take his mask off and stop play after he took one in face.
Bruins played well for 2 periods then packed it in and hung on in third. Thomas let in a real soft goal to tighten the noose. Recchi had couple brutal turnovers.

There might be more Red Wings fan in Phoenix than Coyotes fans. Pretty loud cheer after the first Red Wings goal. 1-0 Detroit.

Nevermind 2-0.

Kunitz will probably miss the next 5 games. Nasty elbow.

Ben Lovejoy said he didn't have a problem with the Downie hit on him. he said it's the Playoffs and you have to take a hit like that to make a play. Lovejoy was credited with the secondary assist on Max Talbot's goal on the same play.

I think Kunitz will get 3 games.

the elbow was very out of character for Kunitz. he's definitely a hitter but rarely gives cheap shots like that.

Saw the huge hit by Downie on Lovejoy, but must've missed this hit. Anyone have a link to a video of it?

Thanks! I appreciate it. Definitely doesn't seem like something Kunitz would do. However, 3 games sounds about right

5 to 7 games. That is the hit the NHL wants out of game. Intentional going out of your way for a head shot with elbow.

Kunitz and Downie each get 1 game :o

typical NHL. No rhyme or reason for suspensions. I have seen zero of this series. Have the games been very physical?

yeah 1 game for Kunitz makes no sense at all. I really think he deserved 3 like I said earlier. Downie didn't target Lovejoy's head but left his feet. I thought he would get 2 or 3.

the series has been very physical. lots of hits in every game but no fights and last night was the first time anything over the line has happened.

apparently NHL.com relies on TSN for news...

NHL.com said:
According to TSN reports, Pittsburgh Penguins forward Chris Kunitz and Tampa Bay Lightning forward Steve Downie have each been suspended one game by the NHL for their actions during Game 3 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal-round series on Monday.

Downie's ban comes as the result of a charge on Penguins defenseman Ben Lovejoy during the first period. He was going to be assessed a minor penalty on the play, but the Penguins scored a goal before the Lightning were able to gain possession of the puck for the whistle to be blown.

Kunitz connected with an elbow to the head of Lightning forward Simon Gagne on a separate play in the first period of what ended up a 3-2 win for the Penguins. They hold a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series with Game 4 back in Tampa on Wednesday.
