Braves acquired RHP Trevor Cahill and cash considerations from the Diamondbacks in exchange for OF Josh Elander.
MLB.com's Steve Gilbert says the Braves are getting $6.5 million in the deal, so they'll be responsible for just under half of Cahill's $12 million salary for 2015. It's a little odd that Atlanta is taking on more salary in a rebuilding year, but if Cahill bounces back they could either trade him at the deadline or possibly pick up his $13 million option for 2016. Using a higher arm slot this spring, Cahill holds a 3.60 ERA with 10 strikeouts over 10 Cactus League frames. Apr 2 - 9:58 PM
