It would be awesome if something like this was put together. I have spent hours going through COMC to look at the backs of cards.

A crowd-sourced project could build it up a reference really really quickly. If someone had access to an entire set in a binder with a checklist, I think you could knock it out in 30 minutes.

Has anyone begun tackling a list of players who are mentioned on the backs of cards? Not only mentioned in the text, but also the little cartoons that appear on the backs of some cards. It seems like it'd be a relatively easy job for those with entire sets in binders. Thoughts?

I have just begun my Dawson mention collection and I am at 53 cards so far, looking for more and looking for the parallels

I am not sure if its been covered but the 2008 Yankees Legacy cards show every winning and losing pitchers in every Old Stadium game played. If your a pitcher collector your guy has to be mentioned if he pitched at Yankee Stadium.

Ok, as I was pulling cards for the game tomorrow, I came across a few more Dawson/ Sandberg things... If people gave me more names to look out for, I could. I remember seeing Tony Gwynn on a team card, not that I remember what team anymore...
