He's got the skills, just looks like he's going through the motions out there. I guess he's just collecting those big paychecks! He can be great. He just needs to want it. Maybe needs a trade?

Maybe a little Prince Fielder would change all that. Although I don't find it likely I have heard rumors that the Marlins could be in on Fielder with a new stadium coming and Stanton years away from big money.

I started watching Marlins games last year and learned a lot about Hanley. The most significant thing I think I picked up is that he has a huge attitude problem and there seem to be some entitlement issues, like he should be allowed to go through the motions and still be rewarded as if he were playing at all star level.

I lost all respect for him on that play when he jogged after the ball he didn't field while the other team was hustling around the bases.

That said, he still has the skills. It's just about going out there and playing instead of being so full of himself. If he can get beyond that, he will bounce back next year. If not, his elite days are long gone.

he seems to be the 'give me a reason to try' kind of player that i'm afraid BJ Upton is.

Look at Upton's numbers this September, last September/October, and when he was in the playoffs. Amazing.

Where is that effort and where are those results in April, May, June ?

Also, doesn't Upton always seem to shine vs Boston, or the Yanks?

Its possible i'm making assumptions, but the evidence seems to be there.

If the Ozzie Guillen to FL rumors are true, that could be the best thing to ever happen for Hanley's career. Ozzie won't put up with that sh*t.

He will move to 3rd, Reyes will come down from NYC to play SS. Hanley will lose more confidence cause he can't field 3b either and will fade away. Or he'll get traded to a contender and blossom. Either way, not really a fan of his anymore.

That's a very good point. I can see him yanking him right in the middle of a game for not hustling.
