not that it should surprise anyone Sid has been working extremely hard the last few weeks since he was cleared to resume working out and skating. he appears to have improved his shot if that's possible and has gotten back into shape after not being able to do any strenuous activity for 2 months. besides Sid's leadership and scoring touch the Pens have really missed his face off ability. their face off % numbers have dropped way off since he left.

I think the Eastern Conference will come down to a matchup between the Pens and the Flyers.
You do realize that you don't have to say you think it will come down to the Pens and the Flyers in the east just because I've been saying nice things about the Pens right?

 of course not. they are the 2 best teams in the East and I don't really think any of the other teams can get past either of them. the Flyers proved with last season's Playoff performance that they are for real and have continued that through this whole season.

Kopitar's fractured ankle has dealt a serious blow to the Kings playoff chances, they may still make the playoffs but anything other than a 1st round exit is doubtful.

Kopi and Justin Williams are out, Schenn can't be brought back up until his team's season is over. Lotinov is injured, the options for filling the 1st line spot are slim. I hope the Kings can come together and get even stronger.

From the article i posted above, i thought this was pretty interesting to think about...

Talking about Michael Grabner of the New York Islanders...

"The 23-year-old former first-rounder is on pace to end up with 33 goals on the season, which would tie him with Evgeni Malkin for third most goals scored by a rookie since the lockout, behind only Alex Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby."

PHX scores seconds after a power play, and Dallas (Benn) answers on their own power play. 1-1 late 2nd.

Chicago needs to get it together. Tonight's loss was a killer. It sucks, the last two games of the season are probably going to determine if they get in or not. Both of them are against Detroit.

Stat thrown out there - Stars are 2-8 in their last 10 shootouts. If there is going to be a skills challenge to decide games, they need to get better at it. That's a lot of points lost.

Went to the Preds-Canucks game last night. Preds lived in the Canucks end in the first but could not get it past Luongo. ::facepalm::

Very impressed with the Sedin twins and Kesler. He sure is a tough customer. Of cousrse, Burrows played well.

As far as our effort, we played well in the first and ok in the second but were really taken to the woodshed in the third period. Erat was knocked around a lot and it appeared that the Canuucks wanted it more than us in the third. It's easy to see why they are so good. Tip of the cap to Vanccouver.

Tim Thomas back looking like his early-season self. 4-0-0 in his last four starts with two shutouts (MTL and CHI) and giving up only 2 goals in those four games. On top of that, B's only 3 points out of 2nd place with one game on Washington.
