Just watched the introductory press conference with Voracek, Simmonds, and Schenn. Holmgren seems positive that Schenn will play on the Flyers this season.

Some things I thought were interesting.

Former Flyer Petr Svoboda is Voracek's representative.
Both Simmonds and Schenn had MRIs and are meeting with doctors at 2pm est today.
Press Conference only lasted 8 minutes with very few questions. 1 for Voracek, 2 for Simmonds, 2 for Schenn, 1 for Holmgren.

I posted this in the FA thread but wanted to post it here as well...

NHL teams are now free to contact agents Don Meehan and Mark Guy to negotiate offer sheets for RFA Steven Stamkos.

which teams do you think will send an offer sheet and for how much money?

Could literally be anybody except the teams that ride real close to the cap. I've come to grips that he's not coming to the Flyers so I won't mention them. I'd like to see him go to Calgary, Edmonton, or Winnipeg if he doesn't resign with the Bolts.

Happy for Mark Howe. He was a favorite growing up. Underrated d-man for sure.

[strike:w0goghs7]Washington Capitals goalie Semyon Varlamov is headed to the KHL.[/strike:w0goghs7]

Varlamov was traded to the Colorado Avalanche on July 1st. the Caps received a 1st and 2nd round pick in exchange.

Paul Kariya announced his retirement today.

If you like lazy older selfish players. Jagr still has game. I give it 6 weeks into the season and Flyers fans will want to run this guy out of town.

Puck nut. You hearing any BOB trade rumors. With what Caps got for Varly, you would think Bob could get a nice return.

All I've heard about Bob was that some armchair GMs think the Flyers should dangle him out there in the trading pool and see who will bite so they can get a winger.

He's a relatively low cap hit, has ability, and can only get better. Having him back up Bryzgalov could be the best thing for his career.
