you dont think a gold refractor auto will top that?

A gold montero will slaughter that price, but a base will not come close. Contenders are base autos and his out of 39 will be closer to the blue refractor price. CHROME IS STILL KING especially the blue and up parallels.

I doubt it

That price is well above montero gold refractors

I have one, bought it for $290

What did the Ref ref go for?

I paid $275 for a Gold and $310 for an Orange ref auto.

If I remember correctly he got it for $850 maybe about a month ago...

$310 for the Orange is a great price...I'd love to find one for that!

True, but even you said before when buying them you felt they were lower priced due to people's lack of faith in redemption process. I expect them to go up a good deal now once we see some that are in hand.

when it comes time to sell these cards, if he becomes the next "big thing" in Yankeedom,
the people that are the target audience are going to want something that says YANKEES
on it.

with no numbering of the contenders, and no mention of the Yankees, thats two strikes
against these non MLB cards.

"yada yada yada times are changing yada yada yada"

at the end of the day, people love to be spoon fed, they dont want people saying
"well, this is a DLP issue, and they used to make MLB cards, remember?"

i know that these cards and Razor cards are all the rage here on FCB, but the reality is
that the FCB is about .003% of the baseball collecting population.

This is a topic that is not going to go away anytime soon, and yes, threads can get
ugly from time to time.

There are people on both sides of the fence, and thats the way it's going to be.

i realize that the people that are fans of just MLB cards are pretty scarce here on FCB,
but there are some. i think most of them just tend to be quiet about it, for fear of
getting stomped on by the DLP/Razor fanatics.

He's beat my badly on the last 2 Montero Contenders. I'm glad I was able to get my 2 Montero autos before he started attacking the auctions.

Allen

I am glad board members got at least 4 of them before they diappeared from the colleccting world forever. The worse case scenario for a collector is for wossa to start buying your player. The best case scenerio for a seller is for wossa to start buying your player.

That simply menas that he will be in the montero gold/orange/red/super market.

Well... he collects Eddie Murray apparently. I've lost many a card to him.

i would like to add that since DLP has no time restriction on their releases, they should take the time to
GET THE CARDS SIGNED.

but the front of the card pictures at the very least, the yankees logo on a hat.

as i mentioned, this is an issue that both sides of the fence will never be able to see eye to eye.
and theres nothing wrong with that.

Wossa paid $5 less for what I paid for 2 Monteros. I should give him a ring, I have his home number and ask him if he wants to give me a grand for the pair.
Yes, of course I am kidding.

Come on....that can't be him. Why wouldn't he just do 'buy it now' for everything? Why put a best offer in for $45.50 when the card is going for 50 or 60? It doesn't make any sense. Especially if you are just going to keep the thing.
