Couldn't agree more, great observation. If I may elaborate on your point, its like there are cards meant for "advanced collectors" than there are "simpler" cards meant for the rest of the world.

Most of the world has no idea what happens in this hobby - I have to admit I can't keep up most of the time. This means in the end the greatest demand comes from the people who just want something simple they can understand and relate to.

when it comes time to sell these cards, if he becomes the next "big thing" in Yankeedom,
the people that are the target audience are going to want something that says YANKEES
on it.

with no numbering of the contenders, and no mention of the Yankees, thats two strikes
against these non MLB cards.

"yada yada yada times are changing yada yada yada"

at the end of the day, people love to be spoon fed, they dont want people saying
"well, this is a DLP issue, and they used to make MLB cards, remember?"

i know that these cards and Razor cards are all the rage here on FCB, but the reality is
that the FCB is about .003% of the baseball collecting population.

This is a topic that is not going to go away anytime soon, and yes, threads can get
ugly from time to time.

There are people on both sides of the fence, and thats the way it's going to be.

i realize that the people that are fans of just MLB cards are pretty scarce here on FCB,
but there are some. i think most of them just tend to be quiet about it, for fear of
getting stomped on by the DLP/Razor fanatics.
