Daniels made him look better.Daniels is one of those guys who is severely underrated. He could be driving down the highway at 70 mph, reach out the window, and with one smooth move pick a fly off a horse's behind. He's that good.Without him...I am not sure where the Texans would be.No doubt Andre makes the big plays but Daniels is the guy who gets it done when its needed the most.
After their game...I came away with a few conclusions...
1.Schuab really is a good QB.He can do what needs to be done to win.I think him and the rest of the Texans really are tired of losing and being perceived as losers. Its weird but they are almost on the brink of being a damn good team but its like they need a slight push.If they can get over that little bump in the road...the sky really is the limit.I think the fights and the intense aggression they have been showing are really indicative of their being tired of losing when they play so hard.
2.Besides Mario and Cushing...our defense is pretty crappy.Demeco is pretty solid at times but at others...he really gets lit up.Cushing is a hell of a threat and I was surprised. He doesn't look intimidated in the least. But we need to be able to stop the run.Johnson is bad ass but there is still no reason he should eb putting up those kinds of numbers against our defense.
3.Our running game is dead in the water.Slaton is in a terrible slump and I think that is due to his inability to juke.I think he is more of one of those guys where its "I'm too small for you to catch me".Look at any of the great running backs and they have some serious dance moves when it comes to eluding the defense. You watch Adrian Peterson and Steve Slaton and there is an obvious difference and I am not talking about speed.Peterson moves.Slaton runs.
Chris Brown is decent but he needs to be more consistent.
All in all I am happy with what I saw and even happier one of if not the best team in our division is now 0-2.That helps us.And I am also happy the Texans gave 4 quarters worth of effort while last year they gave only two every game. But they need to understand...it takes 4 quarters every game all year. You can't just give up.Hopefully they are pissed off enough to keep doing what they are.It seems without them being pissed off...they just can't get it done.
I also think we need to add more pieces to our defense.Even if we get to the playoffs...we won't go all the way.Not with that defense.
