their budget was $650,000 - all they could afford were townhouses. They did show all my favorite eating places though, which was cool.

Mountain View, California - it's because of the Googlers, Linkedin's, and Facebookers in the area.

thats beyond ridiculous.
And they wonder why it is so expensive in CA and why the foreclosure rate is so high. Gas prices are high and even the people who buy houses at that price are high. ::facepalm::[/quote]Pine Tar said:lisu said:michaelstepper said:Mountain View, California - it's because of the Googlers, Linkedin's, and Facebookers in the area.

ahh - welcome to my life. you can't buy a house for less than $800k around here, and that's usually around 1,000 feet for the house. It's scary that some of the townhouses are bigger.![]()

Yes, I'll be in Scottsdale next Wednsday. Going to see the Cubs, Rockies, DBacks, Giants. Walking distance to most entertainment venues, even might get lucky.
My buddy here in the UP is the designated driver, he doesn't drink alcohol. Car rented for the week.
Funny - I'm going to Phoenix next Friday night - going to two games on Saturday and a game on Sunday!
If I wasn't low on expendible funds I would meet up with you all at a game. If you will be here passed NEXT friday the 16th. the BBQ could be at my house!
hoopster3977 said:I'm pretty sure we have tickets for Thursday Cubs vs Rockies. We haven't got any other tickets as far I as know right now. We have a group of about 6 people. Some are staying with relatives, but a few of us are staying at this place. I didn't make the reservation. Looks like a 2-3 star hotel. Hope it isn't a fleabag place. I have never been to Arizona either.

Cubs fans travel well. They packed the park against the M's in Peoria.lisu said:hoopster3977 said:Lisu, how tough will it be to get tickets on Friday for the Cubs-Giants? I've been told that Cub games are sold out.
There's usually a few scalpers. I also think if you show up at the stadium, they sometimes have some tickets. I would look on Stubhub.

I happen to own the original artwork to the little figure you see in upper left corner of the cover for the first 100 G.I.Joe comics (started in 1982)...
