Good Morning men

Last night I made it official and agreed to sell my wrecked stang to a guy I had talked to a year ago about it. He went and looked at it again and called me said he'll take it. Friday we'll make the cash/car swap which will be a bittersweet moment for me. going to use the funds to bring the family to Disney so thats a positive thing.

I got a Star set I bought off Ebay yesterday.. damn seller ships it in a 9 pocket page in a large bubble mailer.. cards are all bent in half so I sent him a message basically calling him an idiot for thinking that it would survive without at least being sandwiched between two pieces of thick cardboard. I told him he should have penny sleeved each card and stuffed them in a thick toploader and team bag. I'm sure I'll get my refund but thats not the point.. I wanted the cards!

Headed to the doctors office in a bit.

No TTMs yesterday, but I did get in a couple of new Dunns. In case any of the player collectors do not know, there are 2012 Topps Toys R Us purple border parallels this year. So you have the Target Reds, Wal-Mart Blues, and now Toys R Us Purples.

The other card I got in is a 2011 Topps /75. It's a foil card, but kind of looks like a diamond parallel. Evidently, the cards were only available in the 2011 Topps Holiday Sets. Inside the sets were 5 card packs that had these cards in them. If you didn't know, now you do. They were both new for me when I found them. Neither are listed on Beckett. I'll post scans shortly.

2012 Topps Toys R Us purple border

Had I not stumbled on them on eBay, I would not have known they existed. I'm thinking the foil /75 might end up being tough chase cards for some player collectors.

Well just bought the 2010 "1990" Buyback Canseco from the guy on the board.. I was one of the first to respond to him on Beckett when he first posted them. I don't own any of the 1989 buybacks but I now own the one that wasn't ever released....funny how that happens!

Trying to get the Sabo myself. I only have 1 of the 2 1989 buybacks. I didn't know he had a 1990 buyback. ::facepalm::

thats because he didn't.. UD stated that these were going to be random insert but they lost their license before ever pack inserting them. I think the guy that got the whole factory set stumbled across a former UD employee that either took it with him or was given the set with his pink slip. The guy that owns the set on here lives close to Carlsbad thus close to UD headquarters so it makes sense that this turned up in a yard sale or flea market or whatever in the area.

Thank you for further insight. We struck a deal for the Sabo. I am very happy to be adding it to my collection. I wonder how many of these are out there. The guy that has them, didn't he say he has 2 sets of them?
