Got this in today...won it for $1.31... :mrgreen:

Also devised a new way of scanning cards with foil embellishments. This is two scans of the same card.
Only problem is now I'll have to rescan half my damn collection... ::facepalm:: :lol:

I put it in an open one-touch, which elevates it from the scanner glass a bit.

Then, in the case of the DK, I prop up the end that has the foil on an empty toploader. Not a corner, but the whole end.

A slightly thicker toploader would work as well, but the higher you lift, the more you throw off the square shape of the card.

Yes they can brother!

You can lift it higher to make the foil pop more, but then the card isn't square anymore.

I'm happy with the difference in the two I posted above though.

I like for my scans to look as much like the card does in-hand as possible.

Okay guys, it's off to do more scanning. I'm also doing more on the genealogy.

My COMC order came in today. 40 new Dunn cards to scan and add.

As for genealogy, the 1940 Census goes live on Ancestry in 6 days. Trying to make sure that everyone, that it is possible for, is up to date up to 1930.

You just think that it is thick. Try using the flat side of the one touch, place the card on this flat side, scan and crop. The flat side will not appear in the scan.
