Just talked to the business office about my ticket. I guess backing into a stall is grounds for a ticket. I don't see what the problem is with just pulling through 2 spots so you don't have to back up to get out. I am going to appeal it though. The only thing is, I don't know when it will be entered into the system since they are backed up. Just another way for the school to nickel and dime me I guess

Morning Gang
I have been busy today.
Zac my daughter got a ticket last night for speeding. . She was doing under 20 over the posted speed I guess. But when I went to the station to talk to the Police Chief, since I know him and he goes to our Veterans Breakfast every other week and has been to a few of our Veterans events. He was not real happy to have me ask about maybe getting this changed or even taken care of. Oh and then when he seen she was almost 18, he handed it back to me and said. This is a good life lesson now isn't it Dad!

I said it sure is. And as I walked out, I mentioned the fact the fundraiser is coming up in a few weeks, and I would see him there, But I'll be empty handed this time,(since I'm chairman now of the Veterans Committee for the union). I was not recommending we make our 1000 dollar donation this year to their Veterans events they do, through out the town and county. I don't think he heard me, but I know is wife did since she was leaving with me and she is the Chairperson of that committee for her town. As I was getting in my car she called my name, but I just closed the door and drove away  I know for a fact we were their biggest donor of this fundraiser the past few years. they raise about 5k and we give the highest amount. But not this year.

As I read the paper you now get with them
(A) plead guilty and send in 120 dollars or pay online for 145 using a cc or debit card. WTF But it then puts points on her DL until she is 21 years old.

(B) Plead not guilty and take you chance with a Judge and from what I heard from friends you most of the time lose and end of having to pay the 120 or even more if you go anyway.

(c) Plead guilty ask for court supervision and the go to traffic school That only costs you 120 for the ticket and 45 for the classes each time and you have to go 2 times.
So this ends up costing you 210 and if you pay by CC or Debit for them then it costs you 230. WTF.

What a legal scam this is. And the wonder why people think they have quotas to make each month.
Oh, and did I mention today just happens to be our veterans meeting, about what we want to donate to for the rest of the year too. Look like a winning lesson for me

Sorry for the long read but I'm a little perplexed right now.

I love them. I own about 50 cards from the series 2 set, and a ton from the past couple releases.

What I really want is an original series 1 Adam Bomb signed by the artist, but Ty said he doesn't like signing too much.

I was thinking about buying the GPK binder from topps and just adding to it over time, or if the opportunity presented itself to pick up several in a lot, going that route.

Rich - There really isn't a way to contest a speeding ticket. It's the cop's word vs. your own. Someone did create an iPod app that is able to monitor your car speed, and it has gotten people out of false speeding tickets, but that's the only way I can think of, unless you had some sort of picture proof but I doubt there is a way to legally do that. They really do nickle and dime you though. The best way to pay it is just straight up at the courthouse.

Ralph - I did have that in my sig once. I tried cleaning my sig up so I took that out. I enjoy cooking, but I think I should take a class instead of trying to do it all on my own. On the plus side though, the entire ground floor of the house smells like bacon.

Dan - Those binders look really cool. I myself want to see the movie. I watched a "documentary" on GPK and it said it was considered the worst movie ever made.

Maybe topps will give me my own A&G card?

I have gotten immensely better since I lit the noodles on fire, but I still need to work on it. I am way far ahead of most of my friends and classmates though...

This isn't really correct. You can contest the speeding ticket all you want, it's called pleading not guilty and showing up to court. Here in Minnesota (not sure about other states) they also have satellite court locations where you can go and talk to a court official about the ticket instead of actually going to court. They present with you a few different options. You can pay the speeding ticket and in essence plead guilty and it goes on your driving record. Or you can schedule an actual court date to contest the ticket and take your chances with a judge. Or you can pay a slightly higher fine (I did this, my actual ticket was $120 and the higher rate was $150) but all you pay is the fine and it doesn't count as a guilty plea. So the speeding ticket doesn't go on your record as long as you don't have another driving violation in the next 12 months.

Also, if you contest it and go to the court house a lot of times you can win. It depends on a few factors, really.

1. Time of day (this is huge, seriously)
2. Judge
3. Prosecutor
4. Amount of fine

A lot of times the prosecutor will work with you before the court hearing actually starts and offer you a deal to get you out of the court room. Also, if the cop doesn't show up, in general the judge won't rule against you because they figure if the cop can't be bothered to show up then it's not really worth the hassle of giving you the ticket and enforcing it. However, keep in mind, this is just a general thing. It doesn't necessarily mean the judge won't rule against you even if you show up and the cop doesn't.

Browsing sketch cards on eBay and this came up. At $35 BIN, had to have it. What do you guys think, one of the better sketches you've seen?
